And about 85 bhp no doubt...

That's actually not a bad looking motor by Eastern Bloc standards. Could be the bastard offspring of a mid-'70s Cadillac and a Tatra 613. Good luck with the negotiations - would be great to see the sinister beast on these shores.

these were way ahead of their time when first built. Beautifully constructed. Don't forget how much fun it was being in thd upper echelons of the party AFTER Stalin had croaked. ..no fun whilst he was still around as life expectancy too short But afterwards loads of luxuries etc..when I'm tyrant I'm going to start building these in Coventry as a more sinister secret policeman's car has never been built. How can you possibly have a decent purge without a few Chekists in a Zil!

How the frig you nutters keep raising the bar is frankly beyond me. It's like 'where do we go from here?' and then WHAM, 3 tons of Communist hardman transport enters the fray, with stupid location bonus. It's spendid entertainment, bravo.

I would like to know who those mysterious switches kill.

Other than that, I stand impressed with everybody else.

I have no idea how you manage it. But I'm very glad that you do.

Impressed.

I'd be very nervous the first time I opened the boot ;)

A few months back on the eBay thread, I wrote a post about how XJ6 coupes were one of the very few cars that actually induced major depression in me, simply due to the fact that I would never likely own one. Well, I do believe that this car is the automotive equivalent of Closer by Joy Division.

All hail Comrade Bicklevich

Yes- lets keep it real chaps.

This is 3000 miles away, sitting in a car park on the slummy outskirts of an eastern bloc city.

Its not moved since last Autumn, at least, and its tyres are flat.  There are NO roadworthiness tests (of any sort) in Georgia so in all likelihood its never ever had any sort of inspection.  The mind boggles, frankly.

The only glancing photo I have of the passenger front floor clearly show signs of corrosion -presumably because the windscreen leaks. The car cover that was put over it some time ago -has long been shredded.  There are indicator lenses missing, and he's loathe to show any photo detailing its rear. I've not seen any pics of the engine or boot.

At the same time its apparent owner is trying to tell me that its a good runner (although he's never driven it) and completely ready for the road. Fully documented, with Government papers detailing its previous history -but no pics (yet).

And worth a fortune -I am clearly the sugar daddy who is going to solve all his issues.

I am a patient man -and can play the long ,but its going to be quite a time before I am telling you about its first trip to an MOT centre.   Hopefully before petrol is banned...

You pull this one Nigel and we will start a subscription to have a statue of you raised in you local Lidl car park. Obviously the statue will be made from poor grade Italian steel, painted badly with weeds sprouting from rust holes etc...
