why wasn't I warned?

I work away for large stretches of time and as such I tend to miss TV on a regular basis.

As such, it was with great excitement that I spotted a programme called Chop Shop on the quest channel at the weekend, and hit the series record button.

now, I suspect that I'm not the first to question this series (I did try a search. a really long and detailed one. honest) but what in the holy cnuting fcuk is that series about? who told that retard that he's a car designer?

a quick google showed pictures of Martin Kemps gangster saab underneath a monster truck, did the rest of the shite also get destroyed?

6 inch wheel spacers? 6inch?!?!

Here's Leepu's first concept car:

He never plans anything out prior to flicking a ton of Isopon over a rusty body. It's 'all in his head'.

He puts the biggest Ripspeed alloy wheels on and the whole thing is a bodge. He's completely out of touch and has no consistancy or taste in his designs.

It's acceptable in the back streets of Mumbai, and I'm pretty sure the makers are in on the fact that everything he has designed has been a monstrosity.

This was a Chop Shop job too, wasn't it?

Isn't that a recreation of the Jet1 car though?

yeah, done for Mr Holland or something.  Not redeeming enough for all the other atrocities to emerge from the mind of Leepu.

Martin Kemp was so impressed with his car that it went from this:

to this:

Apparently it was a death trap and that was the best thing they could do with it.

The Martin Kemp debacle was destroyed at a VW bash at Santa Pod - Big Bang

It was bought specifically to be destroyed to raise money for charity.

A bit of an aside, there were a number of complete VW fucktards there, who tipped it onto its roof before the fluids had been drained

and before the crowds had gathered and before it was in the Monster Truck arena.

I understand that when they were grassed up, located and questioned about it later on during the weekend,

They donated much, much more money than they had been planning or expecting to give.

Truly lash ups of the highest magnitude.

I don't think Boyd Coddington has anything to worry about.

Remember the Capri for Lawrence Dallagio?

Put a rover engine in it - if you are going to that much trouble put an American V8 in it.

That Taff, is a six inch wheel spacer.

Brian & the 'rest of the guys in the band' had originally planned to drive it up the strip at the pod before killing it,

but it was deemed unfit so to do. Even at low speed!

I can't imagine that there was much steering lock.

But it was broken, as I said tipped on it's roof and put the right way up again, before I saw it.

It did give folk a chance to see the huge shards of filler that had come out though.

Paint was nice, but it must have weighed a colossal amount.

you know, back in the early '90s, I had a mini. and i fitted spacers

There, I've said it. My name is Taff and I have used wheel spacers.

but, so help me baby jebus, they were 25mm, not 6 shagging inches.

The series I recorded was a few years old, has he been stopped? there is no further horror, is there?

I doubt that Boyd Coddington does much worrying about anything these days.

IMO that fire looks like a complete hoax. If you have ever had a car fire in a garage you will know how much damage it does to its surroundings. The heat will have burnt things that weren't touching it, and bubbled the paint off that other car in the garage. God knows why there wasn't more damage to the building...

I'm sure the person who made ridiculous wheel spacers for these jokers told them "they'll fetch the bearings right out the 'ub" or words to that effect.
