Well it seemed like a good idea at the time when my friend kept whining about having to sell his daily driver when he replaced it. His cousin offered to buy it and let him down and he did not fancy putting it ebay .So when I needed a BMW for Central Region Club night I made an offer for his 1998 323i sport coupe. Lovely car but I all ready have a 328i sport with a blown head gasket!

The coupe ones are loads better looking than the saloons.

How does the 323 compare to the 328 for acceleration? How noticeable is the missing 22(?) bhp? Nice looking car.

The extra 22bhp are worth having, the difference is is from feeling rapid to genuinely fast.

Needs the M3 bits removing, imo. Nice enough car, otherwise.

I remember once reading that about 80% of M3s are fakes and 80% of real M3s are debadged - I could certainly believe that

A lot of people assume the Dakar Yellow 4dr belonging to a bloke around here is a fake.

Years ago, if I owned one, I like to think I would have replaced the mirrors with ones from the rest of the range.

These days, I reckon I would leave them.

I have recently started to have a yearning for a BMW. I have never actually had one on the road. Am I missing anything?

I've never owned a Pug or a Fiat (although I bought a small Fiat from a BCA auction many years ago, that doesn't really count as I sold it again very shortly after.

Nice car by the way.
