Arrowebrook Motors - Perodua/Proton dealership

This is located near me - it used to sell Perodua cars, but still does Protons. Think it stopped a few years ago - this was from 2009.

I've not looked inside, but they only seem to sell 5 year old unwanted everyday bog standard Ford Focuses/WV Passats/Mercedes A-classes/BMW Maxi's/French people carriers outside.

MOT is STILL 39.99 TODAY! Tried at 3am on Christmas Day, but they WEREN'T OPEN! Liars.  :-(  :-(  :-(

One side is signed Perodua, the other Proton. Maybe they are like the 'twix brothers', one lavishing a tinny body over dependable Japanese mechanicals, while the other slathering dependable Japanese technology underneath a body that resonates like a pea in a tin.

The Proton just in the left corner of the photo is one of two 'courtesy cars', the other is a Wira. Think they're about 10 years old at least:

Glad I snapped this before they took the Perodua signs down.

I think Produrarse were brought in to fill the gap when Lada left the UK.

My first XJ6 was an Arrowebrook Motors part ex thrown through New Ferry Auctions.

I've known this garage for years, Deals of Kelvedon in Essex, this is a street view image from 2009 but it hasn't changed much, It used to be Cyril J.Deal for donkey years and was the main Austin Rover dealers in the area before being Rover and then taking over the Proton franchise, My uncles old Morris Ital came from there and my dad's boss bought his Rover SD1 and 827 from there.

Looking on their website they are now Great Wall dealers.

Perodua are selling the Myvi in the UK (horrible looking five door mini people carrier thing, like an updated Move/Kelisa), and Proton still sell all those quirky looking cars, but their new range all join the rest of the manufacturers by looking like complete shit but with mad looking headlights/brakelights.

My farter in law and my self are working on buying my mother's next door neighbour's Proton Gen2 on a 06 plate that has sat for at least 3 years since he got banned for D-D then got his free bus pass.

This appropriately-named dealership in Worthing also held both marques and went the same way as a used-car lot. Do they even sell Peroudas and Protons in this country any more?

On topic.

There's a dealership not far from this one that used to be a Skoda main dealer and is now a Proton dealer.

Off topic.

As a Self employed car valeter a few years back I used to clean a few Perodua Nippas for Pains.

Very simple little cars but strangely characterful, like Mk1 fiestas but not as safe, or as fast. and now days not as expensive.

There is one in Shoreham driven by an older gentleman that has a full roll cage, bucket seats and minilite alloys.

This local garage sells both Perodua and MG, thus covering the entire motoring needs of the Black Country from one establishment :)

Kin 'ell, goes to show how long it has been since I passed by that garage. They were only selling new MGs and second-hand Rovers last time I passed by. Mind I've never actually stepped into thier dealership. Its on 'that' posh-side of Dudley near the sticks were very few people ever actually go.
