Might as well buy one of those Subaru Sambar things with a VW T1 bodykit and spend the rest on a supercar.

Or, spend all the money on anything and forget the whole shit old bus free-love surf boy from 35 years ago thing.

Near to where i grew up in Colchester there is a Skoda dealer, for years it has been overpriced, they never seem to change stock so today i popped in quickly to take a look.

I only manage to get two photos as it's on the main road and i wasn't sure if it was open or not.

I bet that's actually quite a nice motor. Faster than the "koops" too.

Another old van/bus/camper that I have missed the bus on.

Yeah but it has union flag cushions, an RAF roundel on the bonnet and he's taken a picture of some bird next to it using the 'sepia' setting on his (I'd imagine) iPhone.

All of this means it is RETRO and so deffo worth that money Rupert. Yar!

3800 seems a lot for a Sherpes alright, but if its in genuinely nice nick then that sort of money seems reasonable for a classic campervan, you can easily pay 4k for a shitty old C-reg pez engine talbot express camper full of wob, i'm always amazed how much money campers are.

Posted

^^^SRS?! I must admit I don't know a lot about campers. So even a totally shit one can fetch a couple of grand?

Posted

You pay for the interior, basically. There's a whole lot of craftsmanship (lol) in there that isn't in the plain original van, hence the difference.

Tidy Carina E - ooh and it's got a Hydrogen converted engine...

Yours for £5750!

'...When the system is used with fuel additives such as xylene and acetone,...'

Environmentalist of the year? Xylene is bloody nasty stuff and acetone isn't far behind.

THE PLASTICS HAVE ALL BEEN PROFESSIONALLY TRANSFER PRINTED WITH RED CARBON FIBRE EFFECT..

:?

Mongtasticular sticky back plastic that looks like wallpaper and probably about as robust as the rubber covering around the gearstick in Mrs thestags c4 picasso

That "Hydrogen conversion" is actually the "makes absolutely no difference" bit of kit that injects tiny, tiny amounts of hydrogen that it has split using water and power from the car battery. It's a recent iteration of the perpetual motion machine, only approximately 302.6% more stupid.

If I recall correctly, most of the development costs for this thing were paid for by a UK government grant via one of our universities, a university where nobody knew about the first law of thermodynamics.

About forty to forty five large probably.

^^^^^^ Fourty to fourty-five !!! If that's the truth there is profit in these :)

nearly 4 grand!

that is a lot of wedge for a sherpa!

OK the bodywork looks ok but the engine bay is worse than mine and looks neglected - I would hate to think what the king pins and the steering are like if the oily bits are like that.

I bought mine for £1000 in August and whilst it has a couple of issues there is no way it is 3k less than this one.

The owners do look like frustrated 'scene' members - stupid RAF roundel for starters! They will get a lot of eejits wanting to buy it and then saying no on the test drive thinking it will drive like a T25 - you need forearms like Popeye to drive a Mk1 Sherpa - a MANS van indeed

bloody hippies!

Has it been registered as a 25 year old to appeal to Septics? I believe grey imports over 25 aren't subject to the red tape under 25s are.

i dont get it

why is it 25 large?

looks like 3K to me

Yeah I don't understand either. What wuld be the bnefit of nicking the identity too ?

It's quite clearly a brand-new current-spec LR (which would set you back £30k for a spec like that).

So poach one off a LR transporter, they bin the chassis numbers and bolt on ones from some ruined farmer's wreck. Get a bent/blind MoT tester to test it, job done. Then sell it to Norm (other american idiots are available) where 25 year + LR's are permitted but current ones are not (type approval/emmissions/safety regs?), because no-one here would be daft enough to run the risk, one pull from VOSA and at best it's a Q-plate, at worst confiscation.

Happens a lot. I think there's a 1970s cut-off for emissions, so you get a lot of 1960s 2CV Charlestons and Dollys (both 1980s only).

Posted

Dodgy bastards!!!!! They oughta get their activities audited by the DVLA.

Its amazing the lengths folk will go to to save £200 a year, FFS just look at it as a surcharge for being able to do 80mph and 30mpg and start on time every morning thanks to your modern gubbins.
