MG Metro Brochure Scan

Love the way brochures shmooze you into believing you need the car in your life.

An old gorlfriend had one years ago, it was bloody dismal!

You know, I've had a few evil thoughts about buying a early MG Metro recently, I know the owner who's now got it in storage but he wants £1000 for it, I thought it was well overpriced but I'm starting to wonder if it really is?.

These are the only crappy photos that i have but it's done about 28000 miles and January 1983 registered but needs a little TLC to the bodywork and interior cleaning up.

That's a really technical brochure.... Talks of compression ratios and yaw stability. Is this from a day when a serious car buyer had to know about cars?

I forgot all about  those black seats (with the chevron pattern in the middle). I thought they were standard grey on MG Metros like my parents' MG1600.

An old school friend's mum bought one - a secondhand B reg one in silver. It didn't stay long as it was replaced by a carburettored late 80s Orion Ghia.

Go for it Trig. I don't think a grand is expensive for any 30+ year old car in nice, low mileage condition. Nice Metros are gaining a following, though there are still an awful lot of twat's 'improving' them in fairly dreadful ways. Quite a few that have been restored and Hydragassed far too highly as well!

I used to have an early one of these. They're actually bloody good fun, like a more comfortable mini.

My miniMetro 1.3HLS was much the same Mr Sparrow. Seemed to have all the fun of a Mini but far fewer downsides.

If that Metro is relatively rot free a grand is an absolute bargain. Good MG Metros are starting to fetch decent money and they are probably only going to get more expensive.

Keep the brochure scans coming. Top stuff!

I always feel sorry for metros, the number you see on e bay that look decent enough yet someone saw fit to donate the running gear to a mini says it all.

Great brochure scan, i like the naive enthusiasm thats come through with what amounted to a relaunch of MG. I havent seen those little headlamp washers before.

Gotta say trig id be temped if I were you by that red one, looks lovely!!

I seem to remember that it needed a front wing as the bottom was rusted out, it was moted and taxed when i saw it but it's now in a lock up, when he first offered it to me a grand was a bit high (this was about 2 years ago) but in the last year or so prices have gone up. he still want a grand for it but I'd only be buying it to sell on, plus i haven't got £1000 at the moment!
