Anyone know anyone looking for some cheap reliable and slightly dull motoring?

Ms_Ba11s' Astra 1.6 16v is for sale

Its got 145k on the clock, is totally reliable, has a years ticket, a new radiator and a brand new cam belt kit. Its the 1.6 16v 'CD' model so it has Alloys, stereo controls on the steering wheel, air con (feeble), and a stereo that sounds amazingly good for a shite car. Also got a tow bar which has never been used for A-framing. ON the downside its got various scrapes and whatnot, a cracked & coverless passenger side mirror and the interior could do with a valet although its not a cesspit. This car is amazingly hassle-free transport, it even had its original battery until about a year ago. In our hands its just had an oil change now an then and the usual MOT shizz of brake pipes, CV boots and the like. Does about 38-40mpg in normal use. We've had it for 9 years and its never had any major repairs or accidents. I'm gonna put it up on the bay for 595 but if any shiters can arrange a hassle-free purchase then 425 will buy it. No offers. If you're interested PM me as I have just dropped my phone and knackered it.

Those seats are incredibly comfortable and that engine is definitely the best of the bunch in the Mk4 Astra.

Very much so, she's even chilled out a bit about the fuel consumption since realising that this Astra has cost about £600 a year in depreciation

Had some dude round to look at this today, so it took the opportunity to start pissing water out the water pump while we were stood in front of it. CHEERS

Got to Euro Car parts at 15.59 today and spent £25 on a new water pump - look forward to me posting up tomorrow that its the wrong bastard one.

This would be perfect for my clueless mate to knacker up, but he'd rather pay £2600 for a £700 '06 Megane on HP from a dealer because he thinks it'll be more reliable.

Jesus. GLWTS.

Have you got the LHD Polonez roadworthy yet?

^^^^No.

Right this motherfucker has now got a new water pump on it now (which took me most of the afternoon to install), also i've had the O/S/F tyre off and sealed the slow leak on the rim, fingers crossed we've got another viewing tomorrow! I must have spent wasted over £200 recommissioning, MOT'ing and advertising this thing, someone had better buy it OR ELSE. It got an advisory on the MOT for a little hole in a CV boot, so I have had the driveshaft off and fitted a new boot. Despite all this, I suspect this car is pretty much worthless and flogging it is going to be a right drawn-out affair.

From a two bob joker who made a shit offer.

Yes. Not a sniff of interest form eBay or bumtree, but half a dozen calls off the autotrader ad. Exactly the same story as that Xsara i had.

What does it cost to advertise on autotrader these days. Might have to try that with this van as still never heard a peep out buyer yet.

Can you tell how many views you get on Autotrader? What was the difference? Would be interested to know.

I personally steer well clear of the Autotrader website normally as its really hard to use but that might just be a combination of my computer and me both being shite.

You can see the the no views on autotrader. Since they ditched the magazine it's 10 quid for 2 weeks or 15 quid if you want it to appear on their mobile website.

I think autotrader is the place normal people go to buy normal cars so stuff like Astras and the like sell quite well. If you're trying to sell something fruitier like a Hotchkins side valve wheely bin special then ebays better because there's more people looking for that kind of thing

That's what I've found too.  Ebay is 'ok' for the interesting stuff/ projects/ special* cases.. but Autotrader seems to shift the everyday tat a lot quicker.  Having said that, I've had plenty of timewasters on Autotrader too- only they ring up in person, arrange a viewing and then disappear into oblivion
