Another caff I have discovered is Standeford Farm at Four Ashes on the A449, a couple of miles from Greasy Lil's. Worth a punt on NYD, if it's open.

I may be up for this, as shite-based fun seems thin on the ground around these parts.

Posted

Yep, up for this, what's BCA (Brummagen Car Auctions) like?

It looks like a more professional outfit, which may spoil most of the fun.

Posted

Bca have massive buyers fees for non trade customers.

Skilfully negated by none of us ever buying shit.

True. I wish I was up near you guys . I spent most of my school holidays at car auctions and still love the buzz. Recently went on holiday to the lake district but popped into Leeds auction and bought the wife a car. As you do.

Posted

I love Cannock Burger Van. They sometimes sell a car or two there too.

There could be an episode of "Midlands Massiv on the move" some time this year (well, not in the exhibition season) so suggestions for other crap car auctions around the country please!

Cannock auctions does seem to fit the Autoshiters way though. No pretensions just cheap as shit cars and unhealthy food all wrapped up in one windswept yard.

You've sold me,I'll try to get to the next 1

Be good to put some faces to names ect ect

Everyone's welcome at the Midlands Massive auction meets! Bonus pre auction breakfast available at nearby transport cafes too!

Posted

It doesn't appear that Small Pillock Replica will be available for the 17th. I will be there.

Posted

What time do you meet for brekkie? It appears it's two hours away. Slightly alarming for a weekend.

Posted

I normally trundle to the cafe for ten, but folk are chatting over some bean-juice and toast crumbs by then. Auction is only five mins away and starts at 11 so I think we were there for half past last time, look over the cars first.

Shockingly, Mrs Pillock quite fancies this in SPR's absence. As she has pointed out, if we both go then there's actually nothing stopping me buying a car.

She's a bad influence, that woman.

The bogs are 'character building', too...

Cannock then, next Saturday.  Splendiforious!  See all y'all at Greasy Lil's around 10ish for heartstoppers.

I'm in, and will be servicing the Kia in the afternoon for bonus shite points, if it's not pissing down.

Thermostat and air filter got. Aux belt and oil filter on order and need to pick up some 10w/40 semi-synth oil and OAT coolant

Posted

Isn't OAT a bit fancy for a car of that age?

It's what halfords online search says it's meant to have, I should probably check other sources.

I can remember it coming out in the smiley transits when I was serving my time ! Time marches on eh!

This is disappointing. We will miss the cheerful chap.

This, OTOH, is truly excellent news!

You know the rules, if you buy a car, you are the instant winner of the Autoshite Auction Game.

...the Autoshite Auction Game.

Speaking of which.........  ;)

Normally the brekkie meet is about 9:30 and we leave for the auction at 10:40ish which gives time for a quick rush around the yard to pick your Autoshite Auction Game entries before the hammer starts a few minutes after 11:00

The auction us usually over by 13:00.

Expect 120 to 150 motors with the majority of them in the sub £1000 bracket and anything making more than £2000 has obviously got lost on the way to a proper auction site or fell off the back of a lorry.

I'll sort out some forms, bring a pen folks.

Won't be making it this time chaps, it's grandson_outlaw's 3rd birthday, and my presents (sic) is required.

I expect a full report :-)

Posted

I'll be there too, I'll actually be able to afford it too. Though I must now watch what I eat, my stomach has been proper iffy on and off recently. :(
