When Road Trips Go Wrong

Some good photos there. Things like the Nike football were obviously staged though.

Whats going off with the lights on this?

Looks like a Mk2 Golf. Did they have different headlights in South America or something?

The 206CC stuffed down the gap between the building and pavement was in Leeds - Wellington St to be exact. I remember it happening.

I also think its a cracking shame that the potatoes fell on a Escort Van. I cant think* of a single type of potato to make a pun out of that. If they had fallen on a Estima, Galant(e), Accord, Sovereign, Melody, Corolle(a) etc we would have been onto a really bad pun.

*Think = look on Google

Edit: These must be Vana potatoes, the commercial versions of the Cara potato.

Fuck, how did I miss that.

We might not be able to make any potato based puns regarding the mashed front of that... oh wait, there's one.

Do you reckon Autoglass will still repair those chips on his windscreen?

It's not a Golf at all. Note C-pillar thickness. It's a VW do Brasil VW Gol, which, despite having strong Golf overtones stylistically, is a totally different car, powered by an aircooled beetle boxer that isn't mounted in the arse end.

Looks like he's got a few chips on his paintwork...

I'll bet he's in for a roasting off his Boss for bending the van. I suppose he'll need to be quite thick skinned about it.

Too much waffle now!

Well whoever was driving the potato truck made a bit of a hash of things, driving clearly isn't a job for them, they should just jacket in.

Saying that though, its no great loss. With an Escort van of that age the sills and rear arches were propably a bit crisp-y.

It's just a tattie old 'scrote van. Joey Spud'll be along in a minute to collect it.

The van was repaired, but the paint was mixed to the wrong colour - it was a hash brown

Well, he's not driving that home, so I guess he's a Walker now...

That is a polo shell, with what looks like old school scirocco tail lights, still not sure about the head lights though. Love the fact it runs a boxer too. Weird as.

Apparently, two 1970's American motorcycle cops attended this accident - "Ponch" Poncherello &  "Jon" Baker
