I have a shed

Enough room for the allegro and a couple of land rovers and one of my mate's p6s.

The previous user was an old mechanic. He raised some of the roof trusses for a ramp and although there's no mains power, it is wired up with lights and sockets for generator power. Might have to get a beefier genny than my wee caravan job.

Hopefully the wifey will ease off now that I've reduced the scrap on the driveway. That's me down to a 3.5t trailer, sorned disco, two series land rovers, the A4 and her alfa still on the drive...

Sweet. I might be getting a barn myself at some point after being offered one. But its only 'might' at the moment.

Very nice. Nothing better than storage space. I'm so envious I'm covered in green

Very jealous. I'd find plenty of crap to fill that up in no time.

Where I live the estate agents would be all over that with awful phrases like 'barn conversion potential' or 'holiday let' they'd try and stitch up some stuck up twats from the smoke 'who want to keep a few chickens'

Glad your putting it to its correct use, a barn is for storing stuff not living in.

That's the case in rural Scotland too, but some places slip through the net temporarily.

I'm from London, and I'd like to convert that in to a big glass fronted barn conversion, a bit like those programmes you see on Channel 4. Can you forward me pics of the view from the front, and tell me where it is and if there's any wine bars or bistros nearby? If you could throw in a few ducks and stuff to run around in the garden it'd be great also. Money is not an issue, so how much do you want for it?

It's a bit tumbledown and the farmer who owns it wants to flatten it which would be a shame. Storage is hard to come by even here in rural Scotland so I was as happy as a sandboy when a friend of my brother's came up with this one. There's space behind it too where I might hide the trailer if I can get some decent pikey defences.

It also came with a Thomson Glen 2 berther for the disposing of which, instead of breaking it up and putting in the skip, I have notions of restoring and hauling behind the land rover for that retro road maggot look.

Drive de-clutter underway..

Hey drum if you are looking for storage for anything car shaped I am trying to find someone to rent my garage to in Cumbernauld?

Posted

Cheers Iain but Cumbernauld is a fair way away. Wouldn't have thought you would have much trouble getting it rented out in the bustling metropolis of the central belt.

I'm in rural Wales and we are losing so many lovely stone barns to conversions, there used to be loads of old abandoned sheds and farmsteads but they are all getting re-developed now.

Where my folks live some rural buildings can't be redeveloped from their original use, but surely these people bring money in to the area for local businesses?

You lucky sod. When I moved to the sticks I imagined it would be easy to find a barn or similar for shite storage/fixing but I'm still looking. Maybe all the unwanted ones are houses now. I'm actually thinking of renting a unit in the town I used to live in, which would be a massive pain (having to drive to get to my cars seems silly, plus it would be an expensive option).

Some more pics if anyone is interested.

The old TACR1 land rover is just shoved in and needs to be jiggled about because it's taking up two spaces.

A mechanic had been using the shed for a long time and some evidence of that remains.

That P6 looks familiar, did you buy it from a guy called Fraser, from Dumfries and Galloway by any chance?
