They're really, really anal about the speed limit in the harbour but past the fairway buoy you can blez around to your heart's content.

I've heard Colwyn Bay is pretty good for jet skis, too.

That's fair enough. As it should be.

I hope to rack up some miles with it on the back of the Mongdeo* next year, so it would be nice to visit a few of these places.

*Yes my flywheel does rattle

As I don't own a 4x4, maybe I will get less hassle. If anything, what I have had so far, ranges from incredulous expressions to wishes of good luck.

Some of those slipways are steep. It going tits up doesn't bear thinking about! :D

Need lifestyle designer decals? Step right this way, Sir:

Am I the only one thinking that it actually looks alright?

No, I like it, too. I would prefer mine without the decoration though, like the orange one.

Can I have that in beige?

Apparently the 'Chevy' Niva is not available in the EU. However, you can still buy an updated* version of the original Niva for £10K in France. Not in beige, though :

These are Hyundai Terrahawks are pretty shite and I think you can get them with a 3.5v6 that puts out about 75bhp

I reckon there's still a fair bit of pikey-spec Pajero content behind the 'facelifted' exterior...

WTF is all that 'SUV' shit anyway, surely just another bleeding American-ism? 4x4s, estates, saloons, hatchbacks, vans, pick-ups, people carriers. SUVs? Get to fuck.

My father owns a 2007 Hyundai Terracan 2.9 CRDi since a few years. He drove around 80.000km since he bought it and it´s not been a good car. A lot of repairs (rear-diff, steering-column, commonrail-injectors, aircon, front axle etc.), but at least it never left him stranded. They are cheap, but you get what you pay for!

Haven't read pages 2 3 or 4 so don't know what else has been said about L200s but I can assure anyone who's never driven one that the newer ones are fucking wank, we had a lot of 61 plate Warrior spec ones, horrible to drive, not much space inside and just a bit pointless really. See also Ford Ranger.

A Hilux would be 100x better. Or a Vauxhall Brava.

Also has the Range Rover Evoque been mentioned yet? Anything with an interior designed by Victoria "posh spice" Beckham has surely got to be a pile of crap, the rear visibility is shocking too.

...a 'commanding driving position'.

Surley a commanding driving position is poking out the turret of a tank? By that standard only tanks have commanding driving positions, not SUVs.

I rest my case m'lud.

My team leader bought a new one a few years ago. She was very image conscious. She said did I want to have a look at it. I did and found it so claustrophobic inside. Bloody awful to sit in. No idea what they're like to drive.

I dont get "image" vehicles at all - almost everybody I work with bar my boss and one of the mental workers has a new (within 3 years old) car and a design brand at that. One guy is currently swapping his mint 3 year old A3 for a Merc A class, one has a TT, one has an X3 one has an X5, one a Juke (yurgh) and so on.

Then I rock up in the Micrashed  and de-value what ever I park next to. Indeed my corner of the car park seems to be unofficially my space and no bugger else tries to park next to me.

The top 10 last year included two BMWs, a Mercedes and the Cashcow (can't be bothered to find out what its real name is), which makes both the Mondeo and Insignia more exclusive.
