CoxAir flight 740 should be landing early(ish) afternoon on Friday.

Out of curiosity, am I likely to be the only lentil-licker? Just planning what veggie delights* to pack..

I hope to be there around 4pm, if it's the Cadillac that would be an amazing feat!

Last November a group of us went to Shropshire classic driving weekend and I planed to use my 1996 Audi coupe. The group organizer got to know of this and threatened to black ball me if I could not manage something more difficult. Anyway word got around and on a filthy muddy weekend I ended up with my Biturbo but I did not win the bravest award, that went to the driver of a 1971 Corvette and its special age harded tyres who had planned to use his MX5! All good fun.

Looks like it'll be a right old laugh, can everyone take/post up as many pictures as possible please?

This. Can we also make sure these are SFW by keeping Cameron away from last year's tonic of vodka & pez, and also keeping him away from unsupported dunnies. Ta

Hotel can cater for veggies. I merely look like I should be one, what with the 2CV, long hair, beard, sandals... I've no idea whether the Saturday group brekkie will have a veggie option.

I've now fixed the Cavalier so will bring that instead of the Rover, I might even clean it.

JohnF's been on (Maserati fiddler and previous Shitefest co-ordinator).

He can't make it this time, and therefore we're another Maser down. Mr Bo11's is the other - I doubt very much he'll roll up in that.

0/3, poor show, must try harder.

local places to secure bara brith would be appreciated :D

ETA return from fire museum? May be late as I'm going out on Friday night and it's a five hour journey...

Posted

Will be over Saturday morning in the Charade of doom, possibly with retrogeezer in tow.

It finishes at 9pm, 45 mins back so 10pm at the latest I would have thought. That's if we stay for the duration. I'm not sure how long it'll take really.

Excellent. Multiple triple pot Daihatsus in evidence then. (well, two). Surely that makes up for a lack of Maseratis?

Can offer a lift on Friday from anywhere on a sensible route from J6 M40 to West of Wales, but am leaving for civilisation (Ok, Norfolk)  on Saturday circa 1130 AM.

Plan to arrive at the hotel 4 ish.

Vehicle du choix will depend on checking the steering issue with Betakoop of small engineess.  Reserve vehicle could be sposal  206 CC of hairdresser stylee.

Sorry I can't provide anything interesting to drive this year. I'm continuing my self imposed tradition of bringing a different car each year

Posted

Probably will arrive Friday lunchtime and find summert to do in Aberystwyth. Have to leave Sat lunch as Tom has to get his kids at 5

Posted

I'm planning on arriving around 6pm... at the moment!

6-Cyl - Take the Visa, you know you want to!

The Visa really is the easy option 50+ mpg low chance of breaking down, sitting on the drive pointed towards Wales but as Dollywobbler says where is the fun in that!

I am going to use the Cadillac this evening for an American car gathering in Milton Keynes if that goes ok then its Cadillac time! Well that all depends on my New Mercedes getting me home in time.

The weather forecast is astonishingly good. Dry, mild (16-17 degrees) and only a vague chance of a shower on Sunday. Might be cool at night though - it's dropping to about 6 or 7 at the moment.

The museum are looking forward to seeing us, and a special exhibit is being prepared. No more details until we get there!

Posted

I think the special exhibit will be a Tagora engine or something equally rare & shite.

DW, is there any chance that midges might be a problem for us?

Posted

Have been to extract Shitefest transport from lock-up. Swapped one for the other. Took it for a 30 mile blez round the locale. Very pleasant.

Sorry for the sun in your eyes picture...

You're welcome to bring booze, but the hotel has a fine range of ales, Welsh ciders and other things. They're letting us use the field for nowt, so it'd be good to support them. Some of the liquids are available by the bottle.

Midges are about, but we've been sitting out this evening without being eaten alive. The site is some distance above the local rivers. They only tend to get really bitey later in the year. Some anti-midge defences may be sensibe.
