trigger Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 What's a R&B festival got to do with classic car events?.
Wilko220 Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 What's a R&B festival got to do with classic car events?.It's a little known but absolutely true* fact that Fats Domino once drove a Marina.
trigger Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Actually you're incorrect, he drove a Daihatsu Domino but ended up selling it as he was too fat for it. Wilko220 1
trigger Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Maybe if someones a blues lover they will be on a blues lovers forum and be reading about the show on there instead of a car forum?. Sandringham flower show is on the Wednesday 31th July as I imagine most Autoshiters have a garden they also must be interested in flowers.
Wilko220 Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 I neither have a garden nor a working radio in my car. Stop rubbing it in you heartless bastards. Junkman, loserone, Banger Kenny and 2 others 5
garycox Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 If you're not pre-booked for the Common, you won't get on. They've reduced the total number of vehicles this year and were fully booked ages ago. Just to warn you! We've booked! Probably a good idea to clarify that for others though.
trigger Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 It's the hot rod show at Trinity Park in Ipswich this Sunday, maybe one of the best shows of the year with a bit of everything to amuse you, I'll be there too!
worldofceri Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 Coventry Festival of Motoring is this weekend. Used to be in the park in Coventry but has moved to Stoneleigh in Warks this year. Free entry to punters but £5 to park. Had to pre-book to exhibit your car but there's dedicated classic parking for pre-80s motors (still five quid though). Alternatively there's a free classic bus transfer from the city centre. On Sunday they have a cavalcade around Coventry and Warwickshire which I thought might be fun in the Argenta, but it was over £20 to enter, which I baulked at.
panhard65 Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 This is always a good meeting and it's free. Lots of interesting stuff this sunday lunchtime just outside Taunton somersethttp://www.thornfalconclassics.com/Event.aspx

Pillock Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Crich's Red Oktober event is tomorrow, the 20th October. http://www.tramway.co.uk/events/red-oktober
gary_davidson Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 it's not car related but I thought some of you may be interested. The old underground Victorian water reservoir that supplied Leyland is being demolished to make way for some new houses. Before it gets pulled down they have opened it up to the public. It's open for the next two weeks, free entry. It's on Back Lane, Clayton Le Woods but finding it can be difficult as the road has been blocked off half way so you need to either approach from the A6 or park in the OAP home car park and walk for a bit. here are a couple of photosClayton-Le-Woods Service Reservoir by GaryDavidson, on Flickr Clayton-Le-Woods Service Reservoir by GaryDavidson, on Flickr
mercrocker Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 http://www.romsey-classiccarandbikemeet.co.uk/ Annual Boxing Day inlaw-and-cold-meat-avoidance rally in Romsey town centre, Hants. garycox Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Tomorrow's the monthly (though we haven't been for ages) classic car meet at the Riverview Cafe in Forest Row, near East Grinstead. http://www.riverviewcafe.co.uk/cars.html Starts about 12, there will be at least 3 shiters in attendance.
RobT Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Not sure if they'll deem a Rover R8 a classic but I'm going anyway!
Wilko220 Posted October 31, 2023 Posted October 31, 2023 Diary date for anyone who likes "Classics on the Common" in Harpenden - just had an email to say next year's event will be on Wednesday 24th July, 2024. Apparently tickets will go on sale in April. This year's show was very enjoyable (until about 5pm when the heavens opened and gallons of water started pissing through the front of my Coventry-built exhibit.) RobT 1
