hairnet Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 hope you can sort the gutters rest dont seem so bad
Conrad D. Conelrad Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 I wouldn't put anything heavier than pillows on that roof rack.
Junkman Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 If this is really everything, than you made the deal of the decade.
Rocket88 Posted June 15, 2013 Author Posted June 15, 2013 I wouldn't put anything heavier than pillows on that roof rack. The roof rack is coming, and staying, off, before someone puts a giant pineapple and a collection of old bikes on it whilst I'm not looking, It must be worth eleventy million pounds to a rat rodding type person, surely?
Split_Pin Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Love this, hopefully you can sort it. I'd eBay that roof rack for sure!
Mr_Bo11ox Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 I put a rack like that up on Retro-Rides and made enough to take Ms_Balls out for a decent meal
Rocket88 Posted June 15, 2013 Author Posted June 15, 2013 Unfortunately, I live in Jersey, and posting a 5' x 3'6" roofrack might cause a bit of consternation down at Ye Olde Post Office. I'll stick it up for sale locally, I'm sure one of the local VW pervs will snap it up. Hving removed said rack, repairing the roof may not be too problematical. Apparently, cills are still available, so I'll order a pair on Monday. The door bottoms and other grot seem fairly easy to sort out, although the tailgate seems to be hiding a world of unpleasantness.Does drive beautifully though, and resolutely refuses to use any fuel [or the gauge is stuck.......] Having the lights and the wipers on one stalk is wilfully French, although it all seems to work. Rear suspension is a bit weird, live axle on four coils to locate it.Seats are the most comfortable I've ever sat in, and in really good nick. Door cards are a bit tatty though, although blue vinyl shouldn't be too tricky to replicate.Stereo is finest Binatone radio cassette, wich gives really good reception!
dollywobbler Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Brilliantly shonky. But I must complain about your incorrect spelling of 'cills.'
meggersdog Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Like lots of things in Jersey, that's the French spelling of the word
jonathan_dyane Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 If you ever want to sell it, call me first Love it!
messerschmitt owner Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 That looks fucked to buggery.man, you are grumpy today? What happened? Did Radio Norfolk cancel your contract or something? You're a mentalist!!
Rocket88 Posted June 18, 2013 Author Posted June 18, 2013 That looks fucked to buggery. For a 504, it's actually pretty solid...........There's a couple over here that are far worse, and still on the road. Removed roof rack, going to start on the sills this weekend, and work my way up! v8 scania 1
londonm Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 Can't remember the last time I saw one of these, over twenty years ago I bet. Isn't the roof quite structurally important to a car?
hhhugues Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 Say what you like, a roof rack is right at home on a white 504 estate. I've seen more with than without. These always bring back memories of lifts to school with my parent's hippy friends. Sinking seats and mega loud diesel rattle ! Would love to own one now...
Rocket88 Posted June 26, 2013 Author Posted June 26, 2013 Possibly for sale......before I start remedial grot eradication. £500. Bear in mind I live in Jersey.................delivery not an option!
hhhugues Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 Totally would if it was closer etc etc.... Beyond the collection matter though, grot eradication sadly isn't something i'm capable of tackling myself. Hopefully i'll learn soon.
