DVee8 Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Bon Jovi's stage from last nights gig at the stadium of light.I sit corrected (1959?)Buick Electra
Wilko220 Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 A bit unoriginal. An Austin Ambassador or something would have been more impressive...
155V6 Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 I think you'll find that's a (1959?)Buick Electra.Still looks cool though.
Junkman Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Not Cadillac. It's modelled after the 1959 Buick front:
vulgalour Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 '59 Invicta/Electra indeed. One of the best angry cars ever made.
Conrad D. Conelrad Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 1959 was clearly the year American car design peaked. The 60s was a slow decline.
Junkman Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 1959 was clearly the year American car design peaked. The 60s was a slow decline. Sorry for disagreeing. Yes, I do like the late 50s yanks too, but IMO their 1970s designs aged a lot better.
overrun Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 #SAFC As a bonus, I never heard any of it in the garden.
brickwall Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 I saw them in 1989 for 8 quid (plus 50p booking fee). Sixty bucks is pushing it.
RedSparrow Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 I saw them in 1989 for 8 quid (plus 50p booking fee). Sixty bucks is pushing it. Probably still playing the same songs now. Or at least very similar music with different lyrics as far as I can gather.Awful band. Junkman 1
warninglight Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Went to see them in Slane this evening, just back in fact. I reckon it looks almost Triumph Vitesse from some angles... Got dragged along and the tickets were £80 here! Still don't like them...
Micrashed Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 A bit unoriginal. An Austin Ambassador or something would have been more impressive...Dire Straits with an Austin Ambassador - I would pay good money or possibly give secks to see that
Wilko220 Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Dire Straits with an Austin Ambassador - I would pay good money or possibly give secks to see that There is talk of a big 80s reunion gig in which Dire Straits are going to collaborate with, he of "Road To Hell" fame, Chris Rea. They're calling themselves "Dire Rea"...
