Bugger. My Grand Voyager for sale/swap.

I really don't want to do this, but needs must.

'99 T reg Chrysler Grand Voyager.

12 months mot. Six months tax.

Two advisories on the mot. Bottom ball joint has slight play - I have a replacement, and two front tyres nearing the limit.

Excellent runner and driver. Uses no oil.

All electrics work. Rear parking sensors. Aircon works too - I think - I've never used it but did try it once.

The paint on the bonnet is not too good, but doesn't look too terrible.

I reckon it's worth £700 all day long.

Would swap for Mercedes W124 CE/300E or 190 2.0 litre/2.6 auto.

as is customary, let me be the first to say that I would jump at the chance if;

a, it wasn't so far away

b, it wasn't so much

c, it had more tax/test/seats/etc

Err. thanks.

I need something I can insure on classic car insurance.

Got to slim the outgoings down a tad.

Don't want to sell it. Me and Mrs Tetley love it.

Swap with Dollywobbler?

I really don't think he needs a seven seater in his life lol.

Sadly I have no need of an enormous people carrier. Someone should buy the enormous people carrier so TS can buy my Merc! Everyone should do the Autoshite Shuffle.

Some silly questions

Do these.have electric boot release?

are the seats removable for boot space?

I'd also like to chip in with a hopless suggestion: how about a Peugeot 406 2.0 petrol saloon? It's not automatic but you do have to be there.

Posted

It doesn't drink and drive.

Sorry chaps, there were a couple of questions I didn't answer.

No, they don't have an electric boot release.

All the rear seats can be taken out in about 5 minutes, but apparently, they're heavy.

I've seen it said you can get an 8x4 sheet of whatever in the back.

I've never had the seats out or carried anything while I've owned it though.

"Bugger" indeed!  After the fun and games we had with the white one, I strolled off in a different direction... and now this happens.  I'm still tempted though.  If only you weren't so far away...

Tell you what, how about meeting at Billy's in Chester, so you can check out his (ex-my) 406 and he can drool over my Blazer......?

Sorry Eddy, I've never had a Pug and never wanted one.

The idea is to get something a tad older so I can insure it on classic car insurance.

My direct debits have got too fat, got to slim them down a bit.

I've had a Merc 300e w124, and a later C280, both good cars, but the 300e was better, so that's the sort of thing I'm looking for.

I'm wondering if it's worth selling or swapping this, to be honest.

Got a quote from Lancaster insurance this morning. It was for a K reg Merc 260e. The quote came to about 550 quid, about 150 more than I'm paying for my Grand Voyager.

Posted

Has anybody got any suggestion as to what classic car insurance companies I could get a quote from?

Lancaster are obviously out.

Blimey this forum moves fast now.

Just rescued this thread from page three.

I've just been out in the old bus.

Had to go to a meeting at work as I've been off work for five weeks now after an op.

Having major second thoughts about getting rid now. It ran and drove superbly

Worth another bump methinks.

Still fancy a W124.
