I had the wagon version of that. It was fugging huge, and could seat 12 at a pinch. Wasn't quick though, even with the 6.6 big block, and handled like an elephant on a skateboard. It was typically '70s-barge comfy, having said that, and had a surprisingly good turning circle for an old Yank. Ended up selling it to some bloke who reckoned he was going to fit the engine into his Sierra.

That's epic, bet the suspension's still wobbling like a jelly ten seconds after you get out. 8)

I wish I was brave enough to buy something like that.

I am, I have, more than once! They're grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat! :D Yeah ok, there's stuff it won't do as well as, say, a Mondeo at the same price, but you buy it for different reasons than you would the Mondeo. And I know which I'd buy.

This hasn't been mentioned in this thread yet, but it's the car out of the film 'The Duel'. :)

Right, 2 things.

I've renamed the thread 'cause at this rate it's going to turn into a bloody saga.

Secondly, This LTD is just waaaaaay too friggin big! We ran out of work at dinnertime so I made a masking tape outline of my Buick on the workshop floor (4500cmx1800cm), then my ex-Dodge (5100cm x 2010cm) and then this LTD, which at 5860cm x 2200cm I ran out of room in our mot bay! Think I'm gonna have to limit myself to a "compact"!

Stand by for action...

I had an LTD 11 sedan basically the same car with a few updates, like stacked rectangular lights, that was the biggest Yank I ever owned, had to do a 5 point turn just to get it in the driveway, wafted you and a few friends along without a care in the world, and with twin side exit exhausts the rest of the world knew you were coming........... :D

it is, but its also a ford, i bought a 1600 crusader for £60 on my 18th birthday (2001) now look at the bloody prices!! damn good car though, I used to give it the old argument of "bring on world war 3 i'll still be able to walk out of my 50's lead painted home and fire up my cortina!!"

I was about to post this link to a Cortina Crusader but when i watched it I realised it wasn't one. Rubbish. I have written on this very forum more than once about the fact this car was a Crusader and now realise it was all lies. I am a fraud.
