Sorry to hear about your job loss but are you sure it's wise to sell your car so quickly? it wouldn't be worth much to anyone else but could be invaluable to you in finding a new job.

My wife got a car and I can get a cheap bike. The insurance is 93 a month so a big saving can be made mate

Posted

Bit hard loading from phone but I'm sure there is a pic on here somewhere. I'm notts Derby border.

Posted

is that classic insurance? £95 sounds a lot......

Posted

Class I biusness use,25 year old no ncb and three points. A lot cheaper than a polo or fiesta or saxo! And thanks for pic posting.

I am open to sensible offers. I'm sure you guys on here like different sorts of vehicles and these are an aquired taste but they also are definatly rising in value. Good mpg, cheap tax and mot and also surprisingly quick

Posted

They are good fun (well, the original Robin I drove last year was and these are not dissimilar) and much more stable than you'd expect.

Posted

The mk2 is more stable than mk1 slightly different suspension and has an anti roll bar on rear

Posted

I like the wheels but the 3 wheel configuration wont suit my 23 stone frame ha ha ha!

Posted

Oh and sorry to hear of your employment status, especially this time of year. I hope you sell the Robin soon and for a good price, seasons greetings

Posted

Previous owner was of the larger framed variety! My dad is 20 stone+ and he made my dad look like Kate moss! I no I will regret selling it. My wifes 03 vectra eml light on and is on the fritz so she using it till it goes!

Sell Vectra and keep Reliant, it's the only sane choice surely?

Posted

sell the wife?

im sure if she had a choice between keeping the house or keeping the vectra it would be a different story,Reliants used to (and still are) one of the few cars you can run when you are on your arse,70mpg,£70 tax, cheaper everything else,no rust etc.makes more sense to me.

I was even more on my arse so had to sell the reliant and go back to a bike lol

I've never managed 70 mpg out of mine. Best I get about 55 60. Chassis is galvanized and coated, got all nice extras fitted and really low mileage. I'm gonna be heartbroken. I see point. We are on verge of house going if I don't get a job ASAP but she will still keep the vectra. I'm writing this from inside the vectra actually. It's pissing it down and I'm under the bonnet of the thing. Not happy

I'd defo put an OIRO price on here mate. I wouldn't know what a Rialto of that age was worth.

Posted

Have to agree with Mr Wat,

A quick search of the bay shows a massive desparity of Rialto prices anything form 500 to 2995 for what looks like the same type of vehicle to my untrained eye.

Posted

I'm looking for about 800 for robin. It's got electronic ignition and fuel pump which are worthwhile moss and very low mileage.

Posted

seriosly now you have spelled out the cheap running costs how much is the vextra worth? Nothing to do with the rialto being shite. I would have thought the vectra would sell easier.

Posted

Maybe get 1.5 k for vectra as its low mileage immaculate condition with lots of goodys inside. Replaced lambda sensor in it yesterday now just got to reset light an its fine again. Wife won't sell it though. Even though she is complaining about 40 mpg and where we gonna find 210 quid for road tax in Feb. Women won't learn or listen or be wrong or admit to being wrong or admit selling is sensible or...............

Posted

Why do all you call it a rialto though??!! Mine is actually a robin. Hatchback model. Sorry to point it out!

Posted

sorry yes Robin. And I would sell the vectra in a heartbeat so less of the woman thing  not that I would have a vectra....

Posted

My wife then not women in general, sorry! I must admit the vectra is a nice motor but I just can't work on it unless I buy a reader
