Getting ahead of myself, anyone local to Leeds got a bland Toyota for under £500 they want rid of?

Yes, Indeed I do!

Now either of those would be idela, but assuming this goes through I'll only have about 24 hours to get a car before I'm back in work, which means you're both too far away

Now no longer provisionally sold, since it doesn't have a full service history

That has annoyed me, and I did feel like texting back asking him to find me a list of 26 year old £550 cars that he can find with full history. But I guess at least he let me know rather than just not turn up.

Fucking hell I hate selling cars

What difference does having a service history make? Just because a cars service record says it has had it pugs oil etc changed it doesnt mean that the work has actually been done!. 20 0dd year old car a service history wont really make that much difference. Usually unless i know the seller , i change the oil plugs etc once i buy a car!. Numpties that insist on servoice histories on older cars!

Arrgh! I feel your pain. I had the same problem with the Escort I tried to sell last year, despite it being a pretty honest one owner car, I had knobbers demanding FSH etc. It was half the price of yours also. It went to frag in the end

Sorry to hear you've been let down. Odd that he was so fussed by the sh thing as we're talking about a 26 year old car!

Posted

He was never going to buy it anyway, no-one changes their mind on those grounds. Its just an excuse.

What B01 said.

Also I'd just keep his contact details and enter them into Google now and then. If he ever sells a car just get a spare 'pay as you go' sim, offer to buy whatever he's selling, leave it a few days and tell him you cannot go through with the purchase because you didn't realise Morris Minor started with 'M' and you're allergic to that particular consonant.

Perhaps add that you're really sorry, but even the sound of the letter reminds you of the time you got stung by a bee and ended up stabbing next door's kid in the eye with a pencil. That way you've added an air of mystery and danger about you and he is unlikely to call you a twat by return text message.

Good luck, I had some numpty moaning at me when i was selling my 1972 Opel Kadett as it was missing it's services between 1984 and 1990!

20 watchers already? Just bid! The seats are in perfect condition!!

I had the same issue when I was trying to sell my mum's SAAB 9000 for £300. I told him politely to GTF and that he was expecting the moon on a stick for a £300 car with T&T, and that recent service history (plenty) is much more relevant.

GLWTS, you have 21 watchers now.

Sex aid gear knob not included? Pah, in that case you can keep it

GLWTS etc etc

Seats in perfect condition, just drool over this!

This guy is after 2300 pounds for his 1980 one, it just might be worth it.

Over 50 watchers, 0 bids, one question about if it is rear wheel drive and one person who will come down from Scotland to give me less than the start price. All par for the course then.

Posted

Tell him you can clearly see from the pics that its right hand drive :roll::roll::roll:

I'm a bit worried now. I just looked at the auction, although I've got no intention of buying. Then I notice at the end that

All non bidders will be reported

That's a bit fucking harsh!
