I've neglected this thread for a while but work has been ongoing.

 

Anyway, this is where we are at the moment. Just waiting for the rear bumper to come back from the chroming place, some interior odd and ends plus a new stainless steel exhaust and it should be ready for the road.

My dad had one of those in beige, there is a photo of me and my younger brother as kids sitting on it taken sometime in the 80s. It was an N reg IIRC

Amazing job, one of my favourite cars. I owned a 1973 GT in the 80's and my mate had a GLS. Both had the same dash but the GT didn't have any wood just black vinyl. My GT had overdrive and was nice to cruise on motorways, I remember being in my mates GLS when we came across a new XR3 (not i) on the M4 my mate put his foot and the XR3 was unable to pass, both cars seemed to have the same top speed.

That looks amazing, I particularly like the reflective plates, it looks like it would have when new rather than the black and silver ones everyone seems to put on everything pre 74.

It's only looking at this that I realised that Chrysler Hunters were just GLS lookalikes, makes BL's Marina to Ital facelift look like a completely new car.
