What will they think of next? Self Cleaning Subaru

I got this in a email from Subaru this morning.

Subaru is about to take the automotive world by storm with the launch of the world’s first self-cleaning car, with patented AF Technology – just in time to beat next week’s widespread enforcement of hosepipe bans.

Subaru’s engineers have developed the radical new technology in conjunction with some of the world’s leading electrical engineers. To clean the car in an instant, the driver simply has to press a button on the key fob while outside the vehicle, without any danger of getting wet or dousing the neighbours’ pets.

The team behind the self-cleaning technology recognise that Subaru drivers are active people who lead active lives and they don’t have to waste their time washing their car at the weekend.

It is with this in mind that the team has been dedicated to developing the technology to make their customer’s lives that little bit easier.

Professor Ai Lai, who led the team, reveals: “Nanogenerators convert mechanical energy available in the environment into electrical energy, activating safe low-voltage electrical currents on the car’s outer body surface.

“These currents flow in precise, overlapping patterns to disturb and dissolve micro-attachments on the car’s metalwork, such as dirt and dust.â€Â

A dream solution for every motorist’s wish list, AF self-cleaning becomes available in the UK Sunday April 1st.

:lol:

This feature is completely redundant anyway because that car is so ugly that even dirt isn't attracted to it.

Someone locally has one in that colour and it's so horrible looking it's almost hypnotic. I found myself staring at it for a couple of minutes taking in the horror.

I invented the self cleaning car years ago;

Simply stuff a rotten sill with Poundland pan scrubbers, lightly apply primer over the finished result and hey presto, not only does your recently repaired sill pass the interested purchaser magnet test but, soon as it starts raining the car washes itself!

Did anyone else get what I suspect is an Aprils Fools email from Peugeot this morning???

If it's an actual thing then they really couldn't have picked a worse day to send off those emails!

On a slightly different note I was surprised to hear that your neighbours can shop you in if your using the hose pipe to clean the car and you'll get a £1000 fine, How nasty is that!

Neighbours are nasty anyway, if you can find one who is shite-sympathetic, never move again! Good luck, they are rarer than a Renault 14 automatic in Italian Racing Red.

Ah, good old Hindenburg Aesthetics (Oh, the humanity!).

Not here they can't! They might get pissed off if it was their hosepipe mind you, but we've got oodles of water up int' north! :twisted:
