The cab is parked next to a cab office that still stood in 2009.
 

 

It was the cutest little building, listed since the early 1990s (guess upon whose initiative)

and a local landmark. It was then destroyed in a hit and run accident.

Another superb assortment Mr J.  In many of the European cards, I can feel the 'atmosphere' of my childhood.  Sadly, I did not get to the 'States until 1991 when many of the land yatchs in Washington State were already rotting away round the back of houses. Their survival rate was better in New Mexico which I visited a year or two later. I have yet to have a ride in one though.

I didn't know Route 66 was oneway, how do people return back home, interstate 60?

 

It was directionally divided in many bigger cities.

Most famously in Oklahoma City, where eastbound and westbound were over a mile apart,

so a U-turn was almost a two mile journey.
