Atlas is dead? Merde, do they do the French Dinkys?

Yes and yes, but the good news is most of those French Dinkys are now available retail. De Agostini are still going though and have released a Dinky collection under their own name so who knows what might happen in the future.

DeAgostini was the parent of Atlas, so I think it is just a name drop. I hope some of those Atlas Ford Capri police cars turn up cheap, as I want one

These are up for grabs for free.

post-5710-0-52045800-1527200536_thumb.jpg

"Free" means I don't want a penny for them. You can have them without having to pay for them.

They will cost you as much as stealing them. No money has to change hands.

However, there are two things for you to consider:

1. I cannot be arsed to post them. This means you have to come here to pick them up.

So if you live 300 miles south of The North, it's your own fucking fault.

2. Neither can I be arsed to take more photos. This means see 1.

The more observant among you may have noticed that there was a lack of 1/24 chod influx lately.

Well, this has been rectified today, although admittedly on a very small level.

Folks, just as a heads-up: owing to a pressing need to get a shed removed, I'm carrying out something of a minishite liquidation sale (since they live in the damn shed).

A number of 1/43 models are up for grabs at the moment on my Datsuncog's Heaps thread (which, since the advent of a Japanese modern over the Terrible Gooner Twins, has been a much quieter and less drama-filled space).

http://autoshite.com/topic/30085-datsuncogs-heaps-240518-lil-thunder-commercial-break/?p=1513079

Shiter discounts on multiple items will apply.

Come one, come all etc.

Plenty more still to appear; everything so far priced between £5 and £25, posted to a UK address of your choice (with further away not a problem - will sort whatever needs sorting).

Everything must go! (And there's a fair bit more to list, still.)

All listings with more pics, descriptions, prices etc available here:

This arrived today, note the simulated panel damage, and driver, it's got a 440ci plant, cop suspension, cop shocks...It's a 1977 spec Dodge Monaco. How many of these things bought the farm in tv shows like The Dukes of Hazard & The A Team? From the Jimmy Blond series

I'm deffo going to get the beige Bel Air when not brassic. I'd love a real barge from Trumpreich, with OMGMPG, but I'm poor, so can only dream LOL

Something bad happened to my Majorette Sierra. The interior dissolved! It's crumbing like dry biscuit!

post-17021-0-32277400-1527260674_thumb.jpg

Obviously the correct thing to do would be to list it on eBay as a mega rare factory error worth one million pounds, but it was one of my favourites as a child. By chance I picked up another at a toy fair months ago, and that generously donated its interior.

Bizarre that the interior of that Sierra crumbled like that

Never seen an interior go like that; and funnily enough I've two of those Sierras as well.

Baffling! But remedied, which is the important thing,

Bizarre that the interior of that Sierra crumbled like that

I know. It's been stored in a dark place with all my other diecasts (which are fine) and the interior in the identical Sierra I bought feels normal.

Posted

Odd that sierra interior has fell apart. Possibly art imitating life...

Its difficult to know how to store these things, I've got half of mine in a plastic box and the otgr half in cardboard boxes. Not sure what's the best solution.

Datsuncog's for-sale thread has re-ignited an old itch and now I desperately need to scratch it.  Cross-posted here in case there are people who don't follow him.

I used to have a wish for a display of models of all the cars I'd owned... I was doing OK but stumbled at the B2 Passat and lost interest a bit after that.

This is *really* making me want to do it again, but properly this time around.  Plus a shelf of stuff I wish I'd had.

Can any collectors point me in the direction of suppliers of models of really ordinary cars?

Not too fussed about scale but it would be nice if they were all the same scale and not too massive.

My cars are inconveniently listed in my lengthy thread but we're talking Rover P6/Citroen GS/Saab 99/Citroen CX/Saab 900/Citroen BX/Volvo S40/Volvo V50 and probably some others...

Posted

The body of my AMT '62 Imperial hardtop did the exact same thing as the Sierra interior.

It's much more common with clear plastic, though.

Hey SMH, I too have a shelf of 'cars wot I have owned' (plus a couple that I just like) and while I've had no problem with the Panhards etc I cannot find a flippin' Peugeot 406 model. Although I suppose Reliant Regal and Palladium are just as unlikely subjects too

Exactly this. I'd love a 406 and probably will have one some day but I'm not surprised they're hard to find in scale!

There's an SCX slot car(1/32) too if you want something a bit bigger.If it's a 406 Coupe,it's a bit easier.I've got them in 1/64,1/43,& 1/18 scales
