Shite in Miniature II

They are certainly rare....There was a big market in the 1960s for knock-off Corgi and Dinky subjects - not quite copies of course but similarly liveried and intended to offer a cheaper alternative.   Woolies used to sell a lot of this sort of stuff - often unbranded but sometimes marked Clifford, Lucky, Telsalda and others.   Bloody expensive kit nowadays - far in excess of the original die-casts they copied in many cases.   Wish I had kept all mine - especially the Aeroflow Cortina with speedboat I got at the local Social Club kid's Xmas Party 1967!

Edit - the Commer's I mean, not the Norev....Can't remember Woolies ever selling them!

I take it the swirly multi-coloured Norev interiors were intentionally so?

Yes, it looks like they used whatever rubbish they had for the interiors, so most of them are either naff, or swirly.

The spetics used swirly plastic for the 'chromed' parts in their kits.

And there was me thinking how terribly "Chic Francois" those seats looked!

A friend who buys nice stuff rang me to arrange a visit to Impala Towers so he could relieve me of some of my bank balance. He was successful in iquest but luckily he has today had an operation on his toes and will be laid up for about three months 8) . That will give me time to save some more pennies as he has more lovely items.

An overview.

Nice there 59' , I remember having a money box plastic friction drive friction powered Leyland Atlantean in red, which looked like an ex BOAC coach with MCW Alexander style body, it also had a bell inside that tinged when you put a coin in. It had 'LONDON CITY TOUR' seen em on ebay from time to time, and if I end up with a decent bit of spare cash and one pops up, I may buy it

Sooo.....as some of you may recall I have been sorting out a model display room which as a single person I can as nobody can nag me and tell me to do something useful :-) . This is the result thus far and somehow it has overflowed into the spare bedroom, just some shonky photos to illustrate what I have been up to.

I found this Tata Indica today,it's plastic & about 5 inches long.

Any City Rover fans want it for the cost of postage?

Great pictures Junkman.

I may have posted it before, but here's a video showing Majorette models being made,my favourite bit is when they put the Safari trucks in the spinning drum to get the paint splatter effect.

Did you see the bird doing it?

I'll never look at them the same way I did hitherto!

Repo Dinky time again.

This time it's a lovely Peugeot 403 in a very fetching shade of grey.

i am gobsmacked at the detail for £40 in delivery- its even got tiny strings to lift the parcel shelf- i kid you not!

Aargh. Perhaps I should pull the trigger on an MG3 to go with my MG6. I guess I can't have just one 1:16 in my collection...
