Flippin' awesome.    The painstaking attention to detail is in itself awesome.   However, the way those things MOVE is even more so.   Slight oversteer, realistic roll and recovery and that slow-mode - just awesome.

That is just amazing, can I come round your house and play? For bonus points I have cruised around Joliet in a 56 Chevy and a 68 Olds 442. 8)  8)

If you view that video on YouTube instead of on the forum it should take you to my other videos. The plot is largely the same but the cars change

Yes, I know, I've done it!  Top work sir, we are not worthy!

Excellent use of the Driver 1 music, used to play that game a lot when I was a kid.

The Hachette RT in 1/43rd scale, it is a big bugger, and heavy, and yeah the wheels are the wrong colour, but that can be sorted, but for £20 shipped, I'm not really arguing. I notice it was made in Bangladesh, hmmm

Shame they didn't do a rear engined UK decker, or something like a Plaxton Panorama

I do like that RT, may have to buy one methinks. Three of my uncles drove them as did our neighbour and an aunt was a clippie. The 229 was a fairly local route as well. I went to school on them for six years, never once did the RT 'fail to proceed'. Apart from when one day when it knocked a bloke down as he didn't bother looking before he crossed the road.

Be quick though, this RT on ebay seems to be selling out now. Comparing it with the Ixo branded version, barring the wheels, this looks better with the adverts on. At around £20 I do think this is decent VFM

That is VALU considering an EFE is £30 odd quid now.

Completely incompatible scale though, can see why it's cheap.

Bloody hell! They used to be a tenner a pop! Sold a load of them a bit back for a tenner! If only I'd known!

I was looking for some old photos but came across this instead.

It's been in storage for around 13 years, it's stuffed full with Citroen models :)

That Oxford 740 is a bit incorrectly proportioned. Either the bootlid is too high or the roof is wrong (looks vaguely curved?). Something is wrong at the front too, and the whole thing sort of looks like a Lagonda.

Corgi did a 740 saloon in 1/43 (and maybe bigger) there's one on my desk. The proportion and detail on that one is better.

Why are all the 740 models saloons though? Are there any estate models? I know Hongwell did a tiny 850/V70, but I've never seen a 740 estate model I don't think.

There's a Tonka/Polistil 740 estate in 1/43 scale,I had one a while ago,but sold it to a banger racing modeller  :-)

That sounds like the smaller 1/50 scale Solido RT you are thinking of, this is the fairly recent partwork from overseas, it is a really big bastard, and just about fits in with my collection, surprised they didn;t do the Rotmaster, but there is no way in hell I would have bought one of them, there is also a full front Harrington Dorsal fin AEC Regal coach in the same series. Ixo have just released the RT in their standard range, it is around £45, Lobster advertised them, this makes the partwork look a mega bargain, and it is so heavy you could use it as a weapon.

Corgi DS in black on wires looks good too....They did the LeDandy on those wheels and it always suited the car, I thought.

I think so too, I'm pretty sure they are actual LeDandy wheels.

I'm still happy with the repaint finish, lovely deep gloss black.

Probably* nothing to do with baking it on in the dryers at work one night shift... :)

Any interest in a 1/24 Polistil Fiat 128 rally or a 1/24 Lancia Fulvia Rally? £10 each plus postage which is probably about £3

Robeddie Models makes a not very good 1/43 scale estate in white metal, but it's expensive.

Then thre are the plastic Stahlberg promos, which are 1/20 scale.

Polistil made a 1/25 scale diecast.

However, if you include 760s as well, there is the IMU Euromodell one in 1/87

I found the Robeddie one on eBay in a few colours, £80 is too much for me!

I'll have a look at the other options.

That Stahlberg one is nice, wonder if it comes in Silver Green.

Came, not comes. If at all.

The saloon did for sure.

So the probability that the Estate did as well is high, but you're seriously pushing it.

During my research I coincidentally came across this:

6332504_orig.jpg

It's a one off made by a Polish modeller from a Cararama model. It is now owned by a Dutch collector.

Some of may recall that I recently bought six display cabinets from Argos. Today I noticed that they have bloody well reduced the price by 20% which would have saved me a fair few pounds. Bastards. So to teach them a lesson I bought four more.  It would have been rude not to as I reckon that will see phase three of the model room completed. The six new ones have been built by my very good friend Rob (thanks heaps) as I am generally useless at doing such things so no doubt he'll be delighted to know I'll be getting four more. I'm slowly putting stuff into the new ones so photos will appear in due course.

Also I bought the RT bus as featured above, lots of memories of riding on them from way back when I were knee high to a grasshopper etc etc. I really should stop buying more models. Nah, I like them too much.

Oh my we are going to be treated with shots of more filth from your collection. We will all be dribbling, and rubbing our thighs
