I paid for a job lot off eBay last night, buy it now.

Any 'gems' amongst them (these weren't my era so not fully clued up on them)?

Has the Ferrari Lusso (bottom right), got spoked wheels or superfast wheels? If it has Superfast then it is quite rare.

Is the Corgi Saint a WhizzWheels version?

I’ll check when they arrive 👍🏻

Looks like the earlier version of the Corgi Whizzwheels R-R Silver Shadow Mulliner FHC, from 1971 on.

EDIT: this 'un

And an orange Bender Dodge Charger - I'd like a 9/10 one of those

Posted

Just twigged I never really wrapped up Friday's market jaunt, what with the forum server outage and then DIY funsies occupying most of my weekend.

On my final sweep before leaving for the day, I clocked that here were various additions to Alan's 50p tray, though nothing very exciting.

IMG_20231208_0932402.thumb.jpg.ea6ea20c67504170b7e9536d49de9a9c.jpg

Some minor purchases were made, though.

The main stall had emptied out the box of Days Gone and MoYs so we could all enjoy* them better.

IMG_20231208_1022222.thumb.jpg.5c0eda6b5ddbbf443d8951ea271d7478.jpg

No Crossleys to be seen today, though.

Some bonus Beetles had popped up from earlier, too:

IMG_20231208_1022312.thumb.jpg.358fcb7ff97ef5e953159c5d39717dc1.jpg

Not much to get in a flap about, really - mainly New Ray, Polistil, Maisto and Welly items plus a few far-eastern no-names.

But that was really the height of it. So, off I went...

Friday's haul, then:

IMG_20231209_0917102.thumb.jpg.f576c2d62e99f1774e11469a2aa79323.jpg

As well as those mentioned earlier, the 50p tray yielded up a Matchbox Jeep Cherokee in an unappealing soupy grey-green shade, which I suspect might be some sort of colour-changer; an Efsi Mercedes tractor unit which I don't believe I've ever encountered previously: a Hot Wheels custom Chevrolet El Camino with what appears to be two jet turbines fitted to the rear bed; and a weird Corgi Mercedes 500SL with a metal base but an all-plastic roof - not the same as the 'normal' mainline 500SL, which I seem to recall had an all-metal shell and a plastic base.

Discovering a silver Sierra Cosworth in Tesco prompted me to avail of a 2-for-£3.50 Clubcard deal, and take home a bonus pink Dodge D100 off-roader.

So - belatedly - Happy Friday, kids.

Even though it's Tuesday.

The Lamborghini with the sticker on is from the G3 Racing pack. Not worth a deal on its own but check out how much a sealed boxes set goes for! £5-600 if it’s mint.

Of the big ones, the Dinky TR7 might achieve a tenner, the others around half that, maybe a it more for the Saint Volvo

I was idly browsing through eBay this lunchtime and encountered this charming piece of Chinese whimsy. 35 quid for a 1/64 model of something that doesn't exist seems a bit strong, but it's certainly a conversation starter*

It's modelled on the Samir Sadikhov render 'Van Defender'.  I think it's great that Master picked it up and are producing the models

Bought some bits from the charity shop earlier.

These 50p no-names just as I thought they made a nice set

Now this was a bit odd. Got a package with an eBay reference number, correct name and address - but I haven't ordered this

Having eventually got through to an actual person at eBay - they can't or won't tell me where it's from. Very strange

If anyone comes across one of these on their travels please buy it/let me know (if it's reasonable). It's a snow covered Beetle made by Polistil. My Grandparents bought me it for Xmas one year in the early 80's (Grandad had one in the same colour) I know there is one on ebay for £40 odd quid but I'm not desperate lol. Condition not important.

Hot Wheels 8-pack mega offer in Sainsbury's tonight:

IMG_20231212_2139432.thumb.jpg.941d139b1dc572e2bd1763aad11a945f.jpg

Yes, that's one pack for £18, two packs for £15.

Just along the same shelf, I can't believe these unbranded Toyota light trucks ripped off from ancient Tomica castings are still being sold new.

IMG_20231212_2139492.thumb.jpg.f02370c56eac45b5491f0a22f9936a87.jpg

I also thought Auto City was a Mattel trademark for their acquired Corgi castings during the 1990s.

So much copyright infringement, so little time...

(So little scale consistency within the set, too)

Well that's what I thought but the one I've been sent is a long card with the Chinese import stickers on the back - looking like it's a sweeping scam - doesn't effect me, just a way to generate false feedback

I wonder where the engine/gearbox and transfer case would go in that, not to mention the the front shocks. Also if they had managed to squeeze the engine between the front seats, how do you actually get them, through the windscreen?

Picked this little fella up the other day.
Never seen one before, Nissan Prairie in 1:43. Looks a bit dated compared to other models I’ve bought lately but still a nice looking model of a car you don’t see much.

IMG_3100.thumb.jpeg.3c7497aaf630a034adb4566b05e9cb2f.jpeg

Also got a Nova! Corsa technically but you know!
1:43, came in one of those little plastic blister packs with the card base so most likely from a magazine collection of some sort. Funny colour, almost like a sun faded pinkish red.

The Prairie was part of the Century of Cars partwork in 2003 but I'm fairly sure it's an older casting. Solidos usually have a date on the baseplate. Most of the cars in that series were old castings, I think the newest was about 1998.

I very nearly picked up that Century of Cars Prairie along with the Porsche 928 at a toy fair. Decided I didn't really need them in the end
