Popped into a charity shop I found recently. Several Real Toy as well as Hot Wheels visible

I wouldn't say they were though

The Bedford RL still has the rear deck cover, well worth a fiver.

So I've persuaded Mrs TOS that we should have a shelf in our study (we both work from home) dedicated to....

"Cars I've owned, wish to own, or wish I could afford (within reason)"

I already have a couple of MR2s, a GR Supra, the current Milk Float incarnated and one or two others.

So following on from my watch on eBay of minty Jensen Interceptors, I will also be looking for mint:

Lancia Delta Integrale (preferably with Rally livery)

Mitsubishi Evo 8

Mk1 MR2

60s Mustang Fastback

Volvo P1800 coupe

Mk1 Golf GTi

VW Karmann Ghia

1960s Mercedes SL

1960s "Hakosuka" Skyline GT-R (I'm aware this might be pushing it - I've never come across one).

That'll do for now... I know i have great taste in cars of course.

P1800 is fairly easy. Brand new from Corgi

There are originals too of course, or 1:64ish in Rockets/Whizzwheels favours

Yeah, so this is a problem. Some stuff I have is 1:64. However, my MR2s are 1:43. The Jensens are also 1:43, so I suppose that.
but I've a feeling it will limit me with some of the more difficult items.

Yeah it starts like that...

Then this time next year...

Everything you have listed is available new or used, in both those scales

She didn't say no when I laughed about it...

Sadly, don't have the room for the storage units above. When we moved to our current abode last year, I persuaded her to move to 4 bookcases from our then 8. I don't think me starting a miniature car collection will end well

Popped into Entertainer to see if they got any Hot Wheels on their delivery - no mainlines but they had an unmolested box of Boulevards, so I grabbed the two that seem to vanish as soon as they hit the shelves

Tomica and Greenlight releases in 1:64 above are well-regarded.  But most easy to find would be Hot Wheels in 1:64, plenty of colour schemes to choose from here.

Why stop there?  A page or two back there is a set with a Hakosuka AND a Japan Skyline AND a Kenmeri

20230614_185136.jpg

Available today in your local Smyths toy shop

Then get started on the 1:43

Lancia Integrales are easy to find,

Vitesse did road a rally versions, later versions are better. Also look out for the sister brand Skid.

I also rescued a solitary black Matchbox from the charity shop

20230615_161918.thumb.jpg.c784f6727e156c03429cc35fc0f45d52.jpg20230615_162616.thumb.jpg.f17efef5e6abebc40c7a7282c77be388.jpg

Which is something I make a bit of a habit of. This came out of another shop in Basildon a few months ago, it was so shabby I didn't bother posting it.

2023-06-15_04-28-52.thumb.jpg.949f6b6ad927de83bbb5bc05d5142c5e.jpg2023-06-15_04-29-03.thumb.jpg.a8e7a88673338081f55017efca18c47f.jpg

I thought I might as well tidy it up, so it came apart and the glass got a bath in peroxide to get rid of the yellowing. Wheels were replaced with modern Matchbox ones and the suspension spring tweaked to lower the front.

Body got a coat of black and that was supposed to be it - but it wasn't very interesting so I thought a little dusting of pink pearl might liven it up a bit. Well!

695876264_IMG_20230616_0819242.thumb.jpg.1d7ad4512804eef6b298dd77055ac248.jpg

Little bit hazy, and a pleasant 17°C showing on the Corolla's external temp display just after 7am.

The stall was fully set-up on my arrival, depriving me of a chance to dibs the diamonds before they hit that well-worn green plywood.

8498589_IMG_20230616_0732272.thumb.jpg.cc60d6040ab5713c9d47bd6608c7a36c.jpg

But it was ok - as seemingly it was nearly all just last week's stuff.

Some 1/18-ish stuff up top didn't seem familiar, but then it's easy to lose track...

747867756_IMG_20230616_0732432.thumb.jpg.91d1331c6f5dcd8f700cb4f41c6b0352.jpg

Maxi Mégane by Anson was quite appealing, though.

1789462695_IMG_20230616_0732452.thumb.jpg.6d4b039e84b8e074f8bffd6869470eb2.jpg

Think the 911 is a Tonka Polistil.

Found the shonky Oxford transporter still kicking around...

And realised that I hadn't put it back together properly last week:

1085965085_IMG_20230616_0734112.thumb.jpg.49ca190f8f4d3811be634bfe8b0f825f.jpg

Yeah, that's better. Though I think there's still a loading ramp missing at the back, annoyingly.

Shiny Corgi OOC 'Millennium Edition' Duple Metsec Dennis still seeking a forever home.

1718648844_IMG_20230616_0735142.thumb.jpg.af55ffb55dcae5f633d86447a696e275.jpg

Siku Unimog in good nick - don't think it's all that old.

825751371_IMG_20230616_0735022.thumb.jpg.93327a468861b66798b349e4d6b46682.jpg

Corgi Cooper Maserati with steerable wheels and a leaning driver was pretty cool, though.

1959954515_IMG_20230616_0736292.thumb.jpg.413c6989ca5d189ff99a9d85bb4784e0.jpg

CORTINABOMB still here too.

More F1 antics from Marx as well.

The Super Kings Scammell Dumper is pretty much mint.

1694042914_IMG_20230616_0735242.thumb.jpg.60e37b81fd9bb6ed753d8f55f8153b33.jpg

Which reminded me that I'd inexplicably forgotten to buy the very-good-bar-a-grille Scammell Log Truck last week:

579991066_IMG_20230609_1223392.thumb.jpg.b10c9ad75985ef7ec774743f6845c5c1.jpg

Well, that was silly of me. Of course I should have bought it... maybe it was the heat, or just the excitement. Either way, it's not here this week, more's the pity.

U.N.C.L.E. Olds missing a searchlight and bonnet decal, but otherwise decent enough for a fiver:

547715384_IMG_20230616_0734502.thumb.jpg.b9f11e5cece8928de99f5a36b504a608.jpg

'Gunfire' mechanism still working fine after fifty-odd years.

I'd have put good money on this quite decent Bond Aston to have sold by now.

399328501_IMG_20230616_0751332.thumb.jpg.0b6fd34cc0c39646e33486927b8658a7.jpg

Ejector seat mechanism and rear screen shield both work fine, though the guns/front overriders arrangement doesn't seem to retract. Bit of a gap between body and base could be causing that, though the front rivet is tight and undisturbed - factory flaw?

1031620335_IMG_20230616_0751442.thumb.jpg.fea50c7a3e4a98b73159b76d0ab727d1.jpg

On the topic of Astons, this Norev DB5 is still here too, with rather more accurate lines and wheels than the Corgi character toy:

2092832884_IMG_20230616_0752152.thumb.jpg.385580c4b938833cc873309d8cf83a88.jpg

It's in decent nick too - probably a magazine partwork model. I believe @TheOtherStu was enquiring about it last week - it's not bad value at a fiver, I'd have said.

Had this Corgi 'Cars of the 50s' Mercedes 300 SL been silver, I'd have nabbed it as atonement for a childhood version which I wrecked.

1977502342_IMG_20230616_0737102.thumb.jpg.4c127de56fe905953ec130866865c776.jpg

Some wear to the silver bits, but a spot of Molotow should sort that.

Big Jaguar MkVII is by Atlas, not Oxford as I first thought.

70225718_IMG_20230616_0752002.thumb.jpg.3081684dbb9dcdf961d685c11ed39eec.jpg

Brace of Corgi breakdown Transits quite appealing too.

The front of the later recovery wagon version is much better modelled than the earlier LWB van version - though it's hard to see behind the nudge bar.

1003250620_IMG_20230616_0754582.thumb.jpg.fa7cb63f6ff1b365dabf3e27028a8d7e.jpg

Original Lesney releases are just so tiny.

1474657752_IMG_20230616_0755412.thumb.jpg.75a9f2ba8fc5fbe1b58539741b065775.jpg

This tractor's a Hornby Dublo, though.

So yeah - I mean, there's still plenty of delights to tempt, and I did spend an awful long time debating the merits of a hookless Corgi Land Rover breakdown truck... but ultimately decided I'd just be buying for the sake of buying, rather than cos I actually wanted any of the items offered...

So I sloped off to see what else there was to be seen.

Think the 911 is a Tonka Polistil.

Found the shonky Oxford transporter still kicking around...

And realised that I hadn't put it back together properly last week:

Yeah, that's better. Though I think there's still a loading ramp missing at the back, annoyingly.

Shiny Corgi OOC 'Millennium Edition' Duple Metsec Dennis still seeking a forever home.

Siku Unimog in good nick - don't think it's all that old.

Corgi Cooper Maserati with steerable wheels and a leaning driver was pretty cool, though.

CORTINABOMB still here too.

More F1 antics from Marx as well.

The Super Kings Scammell Dumper is pretty much mint.

Which reminded me that I'd inexplicably forgotten to buy the very-good-bar-a-grille Scammell Log Truck last week:

Well, that was silly of me. Of course I should have bought it... maybe it was the heat, or just the excitement. Either way, it's not here this week, more's the pity.

U.N.C.L.E. Olds missing a searchlight and bonnet decal, but otherwise decent enough for a fiver:

'Gunfire' mechanism still working fine after fifty-odd years.

I'd have put good money on this quite decent Bond Aston to have sold by now.

Ejector seat mechanism and rear screen shield both work fine, though the guns/front overriders arrangement doesn't seem to retract. Bit of a gap between body and base could be causing that, though the front rivet is tight and undisturbed - factory flaw?

On the topic of Astons, this Norev DB5 is still here too, with rather more accurate lines and wheels than the Corgi character toy:

It's in decent nick too - probably a magazine partwork model. I believe @TheOtherStu was enquiring about it last week - it's not bad value at a fiver, I'd have said.

Had this Corgi 'Cars of the 50s' Mercedes 300 SL been silver, I'd have nabbed it as atonement for a childhood version which I wrecked.

Some wear to the silver bits, but a spot of Molotow should sort that.

Big Jaguar MkVII is by Atlas, not Oxford as I first thought.

Quite nice.

Brace of Corgi breakdown Transits quite appealing too.

The front of the later recovery wagon version is much better modelled than the earlier LWB van version - though it's hard to see behind the nudge bar.

Original Lesney releases are just so tiny.

That Aston Martin is truly beautiful and does seem a bargain at a fiver.
Whilst I'm after an SL, like you, that red paint doesn't do it any favours.
