Are they recent?

Nope, never saw those in Lidl at all.

And I'm one of those sad-acts who reads through the leaflet thing weekly...

It would be interesting if CMC put up some videos of the design and manufacturing process. They do share the files with all the info in like paint colours etc

One thing I collect that has numerous variation are the Dinky Austin Mini Countryman and Morris Mini Traveller models.

One rare version I have yet to acquire is the Traveller with a pale blue interior. It comes in both cream and green versions

Found a funny one in that lot,

Matchbox Alfa Carabo…

image.thumb.jpg.41adcff30a78a0e5a4d4b80ba1d778df.jpg

Doesnt look unusual on the face of it.

But,

image.thumb.jpg.fe3604b4e677d154670c383aaa69b877.jpg

Did someone at the factory fuck up and use odd axle sets!? Or are they meant to be like that?
Seems odd to see one axle with early slim speed wheels and the other axle with fat ones.

Looks like someone fucked up with mine then! British build quality in the 70’s - truly top notch!

That one of mine must have been put together at the time the wheel changes happened then. What a strange stupid thing to do! Did things like that happen then!?

I've got a few factory errors, I find moderns with defects from time to time and things were made more by hand back then

Here ya go, Milligans Mill with the roof and rear decals from a Gus's Gulper

Anyone recognise this? I'm guessing a newish release using redlines, as I don't think it's an early 70s casting

It's plastic, with motor inside and rechargeable cell

I buy those and repair (or attempt to).  I now have charging box for them and Electro Rockets too

Where is it?

Just had a quick look at Vectis. Those do not come up often, they have only had two lots in the last 4 years.

Loads of stickers got out into the domain when the Hackney factory closed so I don’t pay too much value to Scorpion stickers etc applied as so many will have been stuck on after. The only ones I’d class as genuine would usually be the one off ones like Wynn’s etc.

Read the ‘First forty years of Matchbox’ this week. Would really recommend it, it’s similar to the Great Book of Corgi, is consider myself quite knowledgeable but found shit loads of from this book. It’s been out of print 30 years but you can pick up copies for £15-20

It's perhaps a bit unfair to point these out, but it reminded me earlier that Gus's Gulper and Milligans Mill often got the wrong parts at the factory, as they're essentially the same car with different bodies fitted. However Mill should have an orange interior and a flat engine scoop, whereas Gulper has yellow interior and an oval scoop

Mill on the left has the wrong scoop

Right interior, wrong scoop

Even my rare white Gulper has the incorrect flat scoop
