Back on the Eligor them from last week, some may not know but some of the plastic/resin bodied models became the Leader range in 1994/5. I picked up a couple of large lots of these at auction about 4 years ago and have slowly been selling them off.

They are very rare over here,not even the resellers seem to be able to find any.

Dinky had me thinking the same until I realised how complete and original it is - just one vent/trim missing from the side

Swedish Vikingplast T3 was brought back by a relative of the seller, and she wrote their names on it

I normally shy away from boxed things, but I didn't think I was likely to come across another of these - anyone seen this or the others in the series before?

I got that as part of a deal with this

One seller had a box full of Royal Mail themed stuff. I picked up several, most to flip as they were under £2 each - but I'll hang onto these two

Lastly, another oddity from the seller of the other boxed cars - code 2?

Possibly not the right Fred to put this, but where does anyone get the old Humbeol/Airfix paint from? I've looked on ebay, there's loads of sellers boasting "We haz 24795 colours", then when you search, nobody seems to have what I want.

<<OLD GIT MODE>> Back in the day I'd go to Beatties and either they'd have it on the shelf or would order it in within the week. My hardware shop round the corner has a smoll selection, but doesn't want to order me anything in, as once he's sold the stock he's got, he's not getting any more.

Is there a reliable source I've missed?

I’d like to know the story behind the red Matchbox Firebird? I can confirm the Norev Ritmo and the Lonestar Jagwahr both look much better in the flesh - I got beaten there! I actually like the period paint job Capri too, even if Rich isn’t keen!

Oh and the Swedish T3 is huge! I reckon its 1/32 scale, must be 6” long.

Any colours your particularly after? I have to say the Tamiya XF acrylics are the way forward for me.

Hobbycraft do kits, paints and glue. Their website lists Revell pints, but the last time I went in my local one they had Humbrol tins.

A fairly specific blue, a purply mauvey, black, yellow. 
Found these in a box again, and need to repaint the pink Rover in Outlaw colours, and the Mk1 Crapper in Vange Destroyer colours. Got a 1:43 Sapphire to paint like bro's Lightning Rod at some point, but I can't remember where that is.

Will widen my search, cheers.

Good shout, I'd blanked Hobbycraft from my mind due to the length of time and amount of ££££ SWMBO spends there!

A few from this mornings toyfair (where I definitely didn’t goad @bunglebus into buying those hotwheels!) as ever could have easily burned through lots of cash! A few random snaps, the ELC matchbox rarely appear, and tempting though they were I’m having a “no box” rule at present. The picture might prove a handy reference though. As always fuel filled trains are fabulous 😎

 

 

First up is this £10 Dinky seat back-less SAAB 99 and its just lovely in the palm of your hand 😍

Next up from the 4 for £20 deal, which I was quite pleased about, all enjoyed but really quite presentable too. First up Superfast Peugeot 305 quite a nice model even if the dashboard design was phoned in!

Then these two Mercedes, both lovely colours too. I have few rally ones and really like the design. Bonus is both have intact windscreen pillars AND gunsights too!

Lasty the seller of the SAAB suggested call it £12 if wanted the Dyane thrown in….. well who am I to refuse!

What this old thing? With the working door handles too I stole too for a few pounds if that makes it worse 😇 We do have a thing for green Porsches in this house, its been probably well over 40 years since I had one this tidy and despite being a childhood favourite like everything it disappeared into the abyss no doubt!

Re paint, this is fairly close to what I'm after - the purple is a bit dark, but you get the jist.... (I didn't paint this one.....)

Last night, trawled all the B&M in three towns.  No new Hot Wheels mainline stock in for over a fortnight...  but had a box or two of Matchbox recently replenished in one.  No Flying Customs.  Some Orange and Blue 2021, but alas not the missing cars to complete the saddo OCD collection...

Did find a few of the F&F set and got these, TBH just to feel like the petrol use was worthwhile.  I can see another side to this chasing now, you need to scalp to fund the fuel !

Sainsbury's is a big store but toy aisle has never heard of Matchbox.  Two boxes of HW mainline but no Audi IMSAs.

This arrived in post this morning!  Wasn't expecting Royal Mail to be delivering on a Bank Holiday?!

Went big car boot today.  Sunny out and as the second of the year I was looking forward to it.  But a waste of time really.  It's nothing like it was even three years back - these days it's wall-to-wall knock-off sports gear from east-european sellers and English is barely spoken.  This was pretty much all there was, from a full field!

Vanguards Cortina MkII and A35, non-brand Golf, HW Rise 'n Climb from 2017 which had 50th colours not dissimilar to the Orange and Blue range mentioned earlier and I'm now worried there will be more OCD retrospective set collecting going on soon.  Grrr.
