Amishtat Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 And some new arrivals. I already had a Dinky Jaguar but nowhere near as nice as this, and the Imp is just lovely, albeit needing a tyre. The Corgi A60 is another I'd been idly seeking for a while and it's the nicest I've yet found if you overlook a tyre deficiency and a crack to the screen and rear door windows. bunglebus, junkyarddog, Sudsprint and 7 others 10
eddyramrod Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 A bit more showing off. I've almost completed these restorations, just a bit of detail work to go. I think I can call the caravan complete though. And now for something slightly different. You may remember my neighbour Allan, who has provided my stock of Atlas Editions, some of which are still For Sale. We were talking one day and he was reminiscing about a car he used to own: a Triumph 1300 in dark blue. He liked that car and says he should have kept it. Now I happened to have one in the paint queue, so I painted it dark blue and it's now complete. Next time I see him he can have it. bunglebus, Bren, AndyW201 and 11 others 14
flat4alfa Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 This is turning out to be READER'S DIECASTS 'Show us yours' etc Saviem owned since a boy andrew e, Datsuncog, AndyW201 and 5 others 6 2
Frogchod Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 Husky Buick Electra arrived. This brings my Buick Electra collection up to two. AndyW201, bunglebus, Remspoor and 4 others 7
Amishtat Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 Only the second Spot-on to cross my path, this appears to have started out red but two fairly thick coats of Humbrol have long since dried to a surprisingly reasonable gloss. MarvinsMom, eddyramrod, Datsuncog and 1 other 4
eddyramrod Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 I'd be itching to strip that van! Meanwhile... I just spotted Allan coming in with his dogs, so I gave him the little Triumph. He was delighted. Now then, did someone say Corgi A60? I've had the grey one from new, so about 1965 or so, when it looked like the two behind, only better. For many years it has sat in my "Personal" collection, representing 213 FUY that we had in 1975-6. The others, I've picked up at various boot sales and such. The maroon one was pretty rough so I didn't mind painting it in a suitable period colour. antony denman, flat4alfa, Sudsprint and 4 others 7
bunglebus Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 If we're talking transporters, this is my only other offering - long since sold 20190919_123727 by RS, on Flickr Sudsprint 1
eddyramrod Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 Of course if someone says "Transporter" I have to run upstairs and photograph almost all of them for you... ERTL, 1/64, with some 1960s Fords loaded up. The connecting pin on the trailer has gone, unfortunately, but it still displays well enough. Corgi TK with some period Corgi American autos, all suffering roughly similar levels of playwear! Matchbox futuristic trailer with American Ford unit. I could be persuaded into swopping this for something... ...such as a Corgi Ford or Scammell unit to go under this! Fair condition would be good enough. Another MB rig, again could be available. Be aware the tailgate isn't straight. Some Husky and Corgi Juniors, all D-series Fords. I think I'd like to retain the Husky cab (the one at the back) and one trailer, but the rest could be available. I've just got too many really. Volvo rig from the petrol promotion of many years ago. I have a bunch of the cars too, all in their boxes. I bought this one, without trailer, just because I didn't have a Scania cab. Bedford O-series rig was from Bucketeer of this parish and will be with me for life. Shown here with some of my Atlas Dinky fleet. In real life you just don't see a three-axle Road Runner so I couldn't resist this. Not bashed enough to worry about restoring it. Does a Race Transporter count? I have a Corgi Ecurie Ecosse one too, but that's stripped and waiting for paint at the moment. Well there you are; a few swop offers to think about. As well as a tractor unit for my Corgi trailer, I would really like a couple of paintable Dinky Singer Vogues, if you can lay hands on any. bunglebus, Bucketeer, andrew e and 5 others 8
Amishtat Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 You've seen this before, a Tat Friday bag except for the Mercury. On the kitchen shelf hence the slightly odd camera angle and a shit load of dust Datsuncog, MarvinsMom, eddyramrod and 1 other 4

flat4alfa Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 Perhaps not this combo though Because I made it up. Any love for Mattell Mini-Racers? I found it on a Camber Sands the other week

I forget what I swap sometimes Could you scan the range of variations of the Kenworth Cabover Racing Transporter? For Slope testing, obviously. eddyramrod Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 I'm seeing a couple of Peterbilts in that catalogue that might fit the beach-find grilles from earlier! Anyone got an example to measure?
Spottedlaurel Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 Some lovely stuff in that Siku catalogue. The Shell filling station is ace, and the Mack and road bridge set is pretty epic. Going back to transporters, this is without doubt the largest I have: 1:24 Mitsuwa Fuso K-FV214JR & Car Transporter kit by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr The trailer has - mercifully - been pretty much finished, and rather nicely too. Looked like it would have been quite a task. The tractor unit needs to be completed. I'd love to find myself a Majorette transporter. I've had the Matchbox fantasy one since I was young, and this Corgi Transcontinental too: Corgi Ford Transcontinental + various Dinky/Corgi by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr More recently I've got the Matchbox DAF and 1980s Corgi Volvo. Farm equipment aside, there's lots to like here YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSS!!!!!! This is PEAK nostalgia for me - I won't have seen that in about 25 years but I lived in Germany in 1987/88 as a 6/7 year old, so naturally, DM2,95 of my weekly DM3 pocket money was splurged each Friday on a Siku, from the local Divi supermarkt. As a result, I have quite a few of the range in that catalogue - I stopped counting at 50...! Really interesting to see that they were still plying out the 70's casting of 911s alongside the much more modern versions; they're only a handful of the car castings I didn't buy. Not sure if I ever saw them even, as I liked the skinnier wheels of the older models. From memory, the Passat Polizei wagon and R5 took some finding and I've a feeling the Passat never left Germany, as it was always the toy I'd be looking for but could never find. Anyway, good things come to those who wait, so thanks again! Here's hoping I can get back to see them all in the UK come 2021. 1 hour ago, eddyramrod said: I'm seeing a couple of Peterbilts in that catalogue that might fit the beach-find grilles from earlier! Anyone got an example to measure? Already thought of that, Eddy! I checked yesterday (NZ time) and they're not a match. It's also not very 'Siku' to have an entirely plastic front end to stuff, either. The quest continues! Amishtat and bunglebus 2

MarvinsMom Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 all this transporter talk means i can repost some pictures of these. the corgi bedford TK transporter came off this thread. it was a sorry looking thing, that had been enjoyed vigorously in the past. eventually i did get it repainted. the end result while not perfect is more that acceptable for putting other 1/43 scale cars on. the matchbox scammell wrecker was a refugee from mr ramrods clear out. it too had been enjoyed in the past and was tired. so it got strippedand painted, though irritatingly i bollocked up putting one of the new decals on. ah well, these things happen, and i still love it. then last but not least, and in a very much smaller vain, there is this matchbox dodge wrecker. again its in BPslivery, as many matchbox toys were, i dunno if they had some proper tie up thing between them, or if it was viewed as free advertising by BP. i think back in those more innocent days, firms didn't get all pissy about toy makers using their corporate colours, that is something that would sadly become common later! andrew e, Amishtat, Sudsprint and 5 others 8
155V6 Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 Some of my smaller scale transporters, they're one of my favourite things to collect as it means I can get more cars in the cabinets More small ones & some larger ones to follow tomorrow. junkyarddog, Datsuncog, Sudsprint and 6 others 9
