Excellent news Jon, be good to catch up with you again.

Slight delay getting last three or four tickets out by the way. Thought the bread had posted them out but the daft bunt forgot! They will be there soon I promise. I've also had to order a couple more so expecting them next week.

Is it too late to book a couple of places?

I could bring one of my chodmobiles and im sure Vivapower will bring his fantastically dismal looking mk 4 Escort.

just remembered to reply to this!.

if theres space or tickets available im able to bring this brown specimen.010-9.jpg

otherwise is there any way for me to book my own ticket as google is no help whatsoever. if not i will be parked in the carpark somewhere.

That would look good next to my (much lighter) brown 309 :) .

I think it's an Andrew Greenwood show (they still send me stuff biannually but I give it nary a cursory glance nowadays before stashing it away in the office), so mebbe try googling "cholmondley castle car show 2012" or "andrew greenwood car show 2012" and see what comes up? (Hint: make sure it's a 2012 show).

Having said this... I'm sure Cavette can sort it - off the top of my head, the organisers need a minimum 10 days' notice - and they used to be OK with cutting it fine - so we're cooking with gas at the mo :D .

It's a good venue - and if you can't get onto the Stand then the "one make" parking is so good as to be an equally good alternative rather than second best :) .

I'll do my best to order a couple more in the week, VP.

I'm still waiting to hear back from a couple of people incidentally so Mash, Benno and Station pm me with name, address and postcode asap please.

Back atcha Ben!

I didn't hear back from the lad on RR who wanted to go, so the next in line (on here) will be getting his ticket.

Billy,

SCTSH_ANDY has now said he wants to come in his Saab of doom. Any tickets left? Can you get me one? Let me know if you can mate.

Think yourself lucky. I have got to sort this out.......

Have already done the other side like:

Someone previously had simply welded over the crap leaving the car nice and bendy. Bastards

But there is a fair bit more. Need to do some on the inside, one of the subframe mounts and the front of the subframe itself.

But I am going to book a week off work and get harcore on the muthafucka

Jon, shouldn't be a problem chief. I just need to work out how many extra tickets I need and get them ordered, let you know soon as, it'll probebly be mid to end of week coming now.

If there's no complaints I think we'll call it a day now with anymore tickets. All those that have asked I'll do my utmost to accomodate (inc. your mate, RetroGeezer) but with it getting closer now it'll make it tricky ordering ones and twos and getting them out in time.

Don't know what I'm coming in yet, even I draw the line at coming in the Corsa and I don't think the Aldi will be ready. I might, however, have a trick up my sleeve in the form of an eBay find....

don't worry too much about my mate Billy, I told him tickets had already been ordered so wasn't sure if I could get him one.

Ticket arrived today. Ta.

Question is, will I be arriving in the 604 or the Escrot? The way things are going, it'll be Le 604.

It is ok to bung a for sale sign in the window innit?

Defo put the 'for sale' sign in and don't forget to get it in the 'arena' bit when Captain Gobshite does his judging. Nowt wrong with some more free advertising.

I will now ask the questions that I should have asked before I bought the tickets; :)

Should I bring my daily driver Safari which is a bit tatty or the DS saloon which has scrubbed up well after its trying to mate with a Sprinter.

Second question are the tickets per person or per car cos we're only bringing one so might have a spare ticket.

Posted

Tickets are usually (I've not checked mine, it's in the car, but as of last year...) for a car [edit: which is at least 15 years old unless by prior arrangement], 2 adults and a couple of kids.

Re: Cavette's comments about Captain Gobshite, it's a grim venue for white noise in terms of the compere and his tinny muzak which is, frankly, irritatingly just audible all day if the wind is blowing from the west or the south west :( . But apart from that easily-ignored minor irritation it's a great venue :) (I usually go with the Allegro Club in September).

Billy, my ticket arrived ages ago,i forgot to say !

I shall be gifting it straight to SCTSH_ANDY though, as my Herald is pissingly ,mind numbingly rusty as fuck .... so no HAROLD show for me.

I shall still be attanding, only after stealing a lift to and from the event.

THE BRAKES ARE SHIT THE CAR DOESN'T STOP

I completely forgot to check my postbox today, so my ticket may well be sitting in there. I'll check when i get home in the morning.

Im not too sure what I'll be bringing to this, it may be the Golf or it may be something Farina shaped....

On the back of the ticket it states its valid for one car with two adults and two children.

I'd say bring the safari, but the choice is yours.

Posted

I was going to ask you DS but assumed you were bringing two cars! The tickets are per car, only recently did they state '2 adults, 2 kids' per ticket but I'd be willing to bet they wouldn't even notice if there was more in the car.

If you have got a spare it'd be GR10 as there's two or so more required and I haven't got one for myself yet!

Just checked my postbox and now have a ticket in my grubby paw. Cheers Billy.

Mrs D doesn't fancy a four hour each way drive and the chances of something going horribly wrong are doubled if we bring both cars, just pm me to whom you want it sent, we can settle up later.

One vote so far for the Safari, anyone else have a preference?

Posted

Safari so goody gets my vote!

+1 for the Safari here!

Not only because of the extra added weirdness, but I don't want everyone else to roll up looking show-ready. If I do manage to have the Samara on the road in time, it won't be a pretty sight. And if I don't, we'll be in the BX, which isn't looking its best right now. Either way, there will be no time for beautification.

This is Autoshite, after all.

Posted

Exactly. It's Autoshite, we don't do polish.

Also, speak for yourselves on the polish front. I love a good buff....

My first post on Autoshite, I'm proud.

I'll be there in my tatty old rustbox Mini. Would anyone mind if I plug the hell out of my run for retro motors to the 'ring whilst I'm there too? :D

Oh, forgot to add a piccy. Wave at me if you see me driving around looking lost!
