Brilliant work, Warren ! And that comes from someone who hasn't even been to Liverpool !

Oh, and those car ads prove that rusty old bangers are a far better investment than the stock market...

Got to be the Managing Directors Renault 30 TS. That's what a boss should drive none of these pussy Sportline or AMG badged 2.0 diesel versions of what the reps have got.

The plebs should have vinyl seated misery spec 12TL estates and look in awe at the blue velour, electric windows and radio cassette decadence of senior management. Secretaries wouldn't put their bare arses on the cheap nylon of a middle managers 16TS either ,they know proper sexual harassment can only take place when centrally locked in the cigar reeking fully reclined luxury of a Renault 30.

What is that? a workshop or a staff rest-room? Would make a wonderful camper!

This is a cracking thread, much appreciated.

Thanks for putting these up Warren. I really love these 'then and now' pics. There is a book at Tecos I saw the other day with similar pictures of Birmingham which I should have purchased.

It's still pretty much the sane price to hire a car for a day now as then.

Great to see things like this, of course nowadays the Oldham Echo doesn't have much in the way of adverts like this but same goes for much of the rest of that rag.
