Brilliant tonks!

You dont get more giffer spec than that. How much do I want to drive it at 49mph in the middle lane of the M25!!

You should buy a white curly wig and a blue one then find a tweed homburg hat. Put the wigs on your mates and drive erratically on a Sunday am thus creating your very own church giffer express!

Put a tartan rug and a box of tissues on the rear parcel shelf plus a bag of Werthers on the dashboard to complete the stereotype.

It's my son who keeps mentioning the tartan rug and Werthers.....he's only jealous cos he can't drive it, to put him on the insurance adds £4240......FFS

Don't forget the trilby hat :P

How old is he, 9?

He's 20 and passed his test 8 months ago, it would have been ideal for him to commute to work in while he finishes his Reliant Fox.

that car is awful in a fab kind of way. i'm a huge fan of the OAP spec and colour scheme too, all it's missing is an anti-static drag thing off the rear bumper now. Good save!

I have a love/hate relationship with acclaims as my dad actually chopped in a Celica fastback for one years ago. Told you he was mental.

that acclaim is a lovely looking car. I want one now..

Finally got it finished on Monday night about 10pm, have used it for my work commute 3 times and put around 50 miles on it now, it was looking grubby so I washed it this morning!

Ended up spraying everything from the waist line down thanks to the previous owners aerosol attempts so while I was at it the bumpers and wheels got a re-paint too so it looks pretty good now, if I say so myself.

With it only having 40,700 on the clock now I am loathed to use it too much, maybe a couple of times a week if the weather isn't too crappy then in a couple of months it will have to go up for sale to release some funds to get something else finished.

Thanks, I've already had one offer to buy it when I stopped for petrol the other night but I want to get some pleasure out of all the hard work I've put in before it goes anywhere.

Magnificence. Have you held it in third gear on a cross-country blast yet? Massive fun.

One of these would make a fabulous ironic track-day car.
