On the way home (south M40) there was a modern and a C or D reg 5 door 205 on the hard shoulder surrounded by police and ambulance. Someone was on a stretcher. I hope it was nothing to do with the show.

Great to finally meet some Autoshiters in person, albeit briefly, my son was keen to go back to the Reliant stand for the 3rd time to try and catch the owner of the Fox for some hints and tips on rebuilding/improving his, 5 minutes turned into 50 and with his head crammed full of ideas we headed for the Live Stage for a much needed sit down for me (still having Physio since I did my Achilles in June). Suitably rested I called at a few stands to stock up on £1 magazines said a few goodbyes then called Phil (DNJ) to let him know we were on our way out and to say bye. :)

The show seemed smaller somehow unless it was the way it laid out without the MPH bit that we normally walk through, it certainly wasn't busy early doors, we had done it all by 12 but once again there were some gems you just wouldn't get to see anywhere else and that makes it worthwhile, bit like the Masserati I took a fancy too, "what else can you get that looks like that for £24995k" then as I walked around the other side I noticed the 1 in front of the 2 ! which made the £65k Twin cam Escort seem a bargain.........

On Saturday I spotted DW on the 2cv stand, but he was deep in conversation about kingpins or real ale or some other 2cv subject, so remained undisturbed.

Top car of the show for me was the blue Renault 12. Not for its beauty or originality but for nostalgic memories of our family transport during my formative years.

Vinyl seats and short trousers

Pass the sweets.

Also spotted DW on Saturday also in deep discussion about engines, got a free copy of Classic Car Buyer from the 2CVGB stand.

That Mazzer was fantastic, given it's a one off prototype I wasn't that surprised by the price. Escort twin cam was crazy at £65k, but not as mad as the XJ40 at £8k!

More info on the Maz here

This was a good day out. I spent far too much money and didn't take my camera.

Your library is about £90 better off though, so you can't complain all that much.

Good to meet folks! Sorry I was too busy chatting. The Amis in particular stirred up a LOT of nostalgia.

I haven't edited that group photo that she took in any way (other than resizing it from 5 megabytes or whatever)

look at it, it's shiteists, a Talbat sign, and an immaculate shite car all in the shot.

Shame on you if you were there on Sunday and not in that photo.

Shame on me then, but I did get in an earlier one................

I was wondering how that group shot would come out. She's a little natural! Nice to meet you.

I'm gutted I didn't go this year but after going last year i felt that it might be the same cars all over again, It looks like i was wrong.

That Silver Granada Estate has been on ebay a few times, It looks very nice for the money.

So who's who in the group photo then?, I know most of you apart from the first guy, DNJ?, and the short chap in the middle.(No idea?)

More fine pics that make me think I should go next year.

How fat the A5 looks next to that (rather beautiful) Capri. The only reason it doesn't look completely grotesque is that the wheels are half as big again as the Ford's.

And zounds! I do believe that's that a Lotus Elite lurking in the background 8)8):)

'Oh, you're Watanabe! You're much happier in real life!'

:D

You have no idea how often I get that.

Have the very few pictures I took on my phone camera. They're not worthy of their own thread and it's taken me ten minutes to upload four shots because Photobucket's 'discreet adverts that don't interrupt your upload' interrupted my upload and began playing at shattering volume over the music I was already listening to. But I digress.

I should stop shooting the shit out of everything with my camera and actually look round . Like square sweets.

Other key points:

1. White balance,

2. 'La Lancia' by Wim Oum Weernik.

Keef,

How TF did you manage to get a decently lit shot of that 'Six? Did the stand have its own lighting?
