Angrydicky Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Last night, or early this morning (9-10 October) my friend Dan's Sierra was stolen from the Shoeburyness area. Can everyone please look out for it, particularly Essex based 'shiters, and mention it to others? It's lowered on Escort Cosworth (I believe) wheels, apart from that it's standard. Bit of rust along the top of the OSR passenger door if I remember correctly. Any info please contact me, and I'll pass it on to the owner, or Essex Police on 101. trigger and Cavcraft 2
Timewaster Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Copied to the cosworth lickers Facebook page. Hope it turns up in one piece. Angrydicky 1
Angrydicky Posted October 10, 2015 Author Posted October 10, 2015 Please share to any old car groups or forums you may be on. And if someone could post it on the stolen section of Retro Rides that would be great! I can't remember my password for it.
Angrydicky Posted October 10, 2015 Author Posted October 10, 2015 The only pictures I have of it, with the Autoshite Maestro.

Angrydicky Posted October 10, 2015 Author Posted October 10, 2015 I have no idea why the photos are sideways, sorry about that!
fordperv Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Nice looking car, the light fingered sods can't leave anything alone, I hope it gets found safe and sound. I've just linked it over to retro rides stolen thread Angrydicky 1
EssDeeWon Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Will keep my eyes peeled Dicky. I have been out and about this morning, the only thing I spotted was that red F reg Laurel going along the seafront. That Sierra will either be A. Abandoned somewhere outside of townB. Locked up somewhere and being stripped down for a cossie rep! Hopefully its A without too much damage. Angrydicky 1

D Spares & Tyres Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 I think you are spot on the mark unfortunately. Sierras aren't much good at full contact but they do have their own series. 'Lightening rods' they call it round here. Sorry, hope it hasn't gone there
greengartside Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Fuckers, hope this gets recovered in one piece again. I think we should all invest in a cheap tracker system that uses a SIM card or whatnot. oldcars 1

'Lightening rods' they call it round here. Sorry, hope it hasn't gone thereI remember the days when they were banger fodder, saphs used to just fold at the c pillar when someone sent it up the rear, lightning rods are pretty wide spread, I'll stop going off on a tangent now, I'm still gutted for the owner of this and hope it gets found safe
Angrydicky Posted October 10, 2015 Author Posted October 10, 2015 My gut feeling is it's kids or, less likely, someone who took a shine to the wheels. I know the road it was taken from and it wasn't from outside the owner's house as I originally thought, it was parked in a fairly shit estate in the centre of Shoebury (Cunningham Close) at the time it was taken. So I deduce that it was an opportunist theft as it wasn't where it's usually parked, hopefully that means it wasn't taken by someone specifically seeking it out for banger racing and it will turn up abandoned somewhere. Such a shame as the owner has put a lot of work into it, it's a genuinely nice car and goes nicely with his tidy G reg Orion Ghia. He's understandably gutted. Just remembered it has an RS type smaller steering wheel on it.
purplebargeken Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Hope it is found intact very soon indeed. oldcars 1
danthecapriman Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 I'd be very very surprised if that's been had for banger racing. Sierras are not good for bangers but you'd need to be suicidal to race one in the unlimited bangers class! Anyway, I hope it's found in good nik and returned to it's owner.

danthecapriman Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 The sierra class is non contactFair do's. I thought fordperv was suggesting it might be going to the Firecracker event, it's open unlimited bangers and Reliant 3 wheelers only. No hot rods, lightning rods, super bangers etc that meeting. There is the sad c option it's been stolen to race on the oval, it's unlimited bangers at arena Essex on November 1st, hopefully I'm way off the markIf it has been stolen surely they wouldn't want it hanging around as a race car for how ever many years they last. More chance of it being discovered at some point? Even with it's vin removed it would look suspicious.I'd expect it's an opertunistic theft for a joyride or someone wants parts off of it.
Cavcraft Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Probably the best hope is it was some back-to-front who took it for a joy ride or a lift home. fordperv 1

More chance of it being discovered at some point? Even with it's vin removed it would look suspicious.I should have explained better I was just using that meet as an example, as with something being recognisable in the future, with the amount of work that goes into building a rod and how much gets cut out and painted you would probably never recognise it, most I've seen have no vin numbers Would you recognise this car if you saw it before being turned into a rod I must say my posts and replies are in no way an attack at racers i know a few who are completely law abiding, one of which I got to know because he tried to buy one of my mk1 sierra's to turn into a rod as his shell was worse for wear, most racers are decent people it's the few that spoil it I'm hoping I am way off the mark and it infact was stolen so someone could get a free lift home then dumped somewhere Any news on it yet Angrydicky? danthecapriman 1
Parky Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Does Southend have a Twitter community? My friends Suzuki Sj got pinched in Hildenborough and the locals found it in about ten minutes through a Twitter appeal. Gotta be worth a go?
Angrydicky Posted November 24, 2015 Author Posted November 24, 2015 Sadly not, guess it's been squirrelled away to make a 'Cosseh' rep.
Angrydicky Posted November 24, 2015 Author Posted November 24, 2015 DamnMake sure you get a decent steering lock on yours Ken! They are seriously pinchable it seems, well all old Fords are at particular risk over most older cars.
fordperv Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 ^ this is what I shit myself about, I'm going to have to up security as well i think, too many old ford's are going missing at the moment, Ive been lucky up to yet, I think that's because everyone knows my house and my cars so they are pretty high profile. It's a crying shame that this saph hasn't turned up yet
purplebargeken Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 It'll be garaged and have locks and stuff. Plus every bugger in the universe parks in front of said garage so that is a rather large anti-theft device on its own
