Spotted this in Wales last night:

Was in front of an abandoned house, had owners manuals and all panels put inside the car.

Looked tidier than my old 213 ...

Who/why/how was it dumped there I wonder?

Hahaha, laughing at that wrong first photo (old copy and paste from ShiteFest thread), it was meant to be this:

Isn't that the Ballard that got stolen then recovered from Norway? I watched that one just a few days ago.

DVLA says it ain't been taxed since June 1997 so presumably it had been stored at the house since about that time?

Think it was blocking the driveway to prevent things being removed from the garage/property maybe.

That'll T-Cut out no worries.

Said every Dad.

Ever.

Victor Meldrew's Honda Ballad was nicked and eventually found in Finland. I think it was eventually shipped back to the UK with some Finland forest foragery in the back or summat.

Has the value of scrap gone down a lot lately? Someone has dumped a Fiat Ulysse at the end of my road been there about a fortnight now.

Scrap value must have gone down. I left a few lumps of metal at the end of my drive two weeks ago for the local scrap chap. Still there yesterday. Took em to the tip. Unheard of unless he is dead/poorly/on holiday!

It got nicked from the garden centre while Victor was inside. After three months Victor and Margaret were looking at brochures for new cars, all smiles as they were so fed up with the Honda, when they had a phone call from the police to say it had been found abandoned in a forest in Finland. A bit later you see it being dropped off a recovery truck outside the Meldrews' house, where Victor notices that his plants he bought at the garden centre, which he left on the back seat had sprouted and grown all over the inside of the car.

I know where there's a mint Ballade for sale if anyone wants one (although it's hidden from the road with a 'For Sale' sign on the windscreen, which is an odd promotional technique). Also a near mint G11 Charade which is actually mint in colour.

I also saw that Ballade on the way home. There's quite a few dumped cars appearing lately, I've seen a Seat Arosa, Fiesta, Focus and a Transit all dumped on the A12 so far, sat there for weeks with bits disappearing of them.

They were all shiters in that programme.

Victor had a Hillman Avenger, then a pov-spec MK2 Fiesta, then the Honda Ballard

The Neighbour Mr Swainey had an Austin Allegro (that used to break down)

Mrs Warboys had a Nova Merit and her husband Chris had a MK2 Cavalier estate

Victor also after the Ballade had a mark 3 Escort with a dodgy handbrake and a 1970's caravan which was supposedly haunted and try as he might he couldn't get rid of it.

An even better sitcom shiter was Barry from Last of the Summer Wine who had a Mark 2 Escort, then a Landcrab, then a Maxi 1500, then a D reg Talbot Samba.

He later had a mark 4 Escort (which was reasonably new) then got a bit boring afterwards.

The final car Victor had was a Nissan Almera with a 'pornographic' numberplate (P155 OLE). The implication was that the dealership who sold him the car had given him that registration as they were fed up with his moaning.

Who remembers the 2cv in the skip?

MOAR here:  http://imcdb.org/movie.php?id=98882

The best one was the one where he got a job as a chauffer and saw off each of his boss's fleet of flash cars in increasingly far fetched accidents.

Anything broken down/abandoned round here gets torched before you can organise a tow home. They'd probably set it if you were sitting inside.
