I've reached the dizzying heights...

...of almost 'modern' shite :D

After finally admitting defeat in trying to run the Riva as a main daily, I've just picked up a gleaming '95 405 GLXTDLGDTXLT or whatever the hell spec it is. Seriously, the Forum would be proud. I'll get pics up tomorrow, but the main features are: mismatched poundland wheeltrims, complete absence of grease from rear door-hinges, full-on lacquer-peel (as in, omg-I've-just-rear-ended-an-acid-delivery-van level of peel), a dent in nearly every side panel, and loose chrome trim. On the plus side, the interior is virtually mint, and there's only one rust spot just in front of the rear arch. Tonight I have mostly been tooling around the lanes, grinning like a loon at the lack of wind noise and steering-wheel play.

Few things in life bring as much pleasure as a Pug diesel. Fact. 8)

Just noticed your "location".....Did jesus build your hotrod?!

But wasn't he an architect, previous to his career as a prophet?

I recognise that NC...but I'm struggling...

 yes, apparently - although it's the only song of theirs that I'm remotely familiar with I'm afraid.

GLX DT? It's not hard. :D

I really like 405s, I've owned a couple but they can be moneypits if you become attached to one that hasn't been looked after very well.

Only if you bother to fix them. They will cover great distances whilst showing all the signs of iminent failure.

That's true. :D My GTX was extremely reliable but I kept fixing wee niggling issues. £££

Well, no niggling issues spotted so far :D no advisories on the last MOT either. I've covered about 80 miles today and the fuel gauge has barely moved, which is also nice. Pretty sure it's been looked after, the previous owner is a very nice lady from the next village who's kept a massive wad of paperwork & receipts (and who also owned an R33 Skyline for weekends 8) ).
