Commer!

Posted Image

Craig's right that will get alot of love on here, especially as it's even better (read: shitier) than a Commer, it's a Dodge Spacevan....the large front grille/light surround is just visible. This is the more recent facelift of the traditional Commer van post Chrysler takeover yet is somehow even rarer than the Commers!

Cheers Mr Reg, as youu noted, it had the later grille, but had no badges on. Probably would have still said it was a Commer even if I had known as they're such an iconic shape. This one is owned by the same bloke with the blue Tranny camper, which is probably the earliest one I've seen in ages; E or F reg so thats what 1967/8?

What a shitter!!!He's recently bought new sill/skirts for his Commer/spacevan!!!

Makes me wonder what's in the garage.Who could leave a Manta A just sitting like that? I'd love to have it sitting on my driveway here doing nothing.Seen the Hiace in several show reports.

That Lada is a stunner. I can smell its sunkised vinyl interior from here. :D That poor Sierra must be one of the oldest left. It's Cardinal red and would have had the twin air slot aerodynamic wheeltrims. It looks terminally bolloxed though.

Small mirrors and the lack of the stabilising scoops round the rear windows mean it must be pretty old.

Is that a MURVI Talbot Express?

Has the Manta been dumped? Surely there are lots of people on here who would 'do a Torsten' to get their hands on that?! :D

Posted

Yes, its a Murvi Express!!If anyone wants me to put a note on the Manta, it's near Lakeside, I'll willingliy do so; just pm me.

Yep. The scoops went on in '84 when the L gained the GL/Ghia big headlamp front end.Anyone else remember Neil Kinnock flipping his A plate One-Six L on the M4?

Didn't Frank Williams do the same in France?

Didn't Frank Williams do the same in France?

I know I'm a horrible person, but I thought that was ironic as it followed rev. blue jeans signature:But it can't sing and dance an' it don't walk!Sorry!

Thats survival of truly Biblical proportions - I'd love to have spotted this lovely Lada. I have a Lada brochure from the same model year as this car - except mine is for the 1500.

Is the CPTC a prototype Metrocab?

I dont think it's a Corsair- it was my 1st thought, but it doesn't have the pointed front edge to the wings/indicators. Mk 4 Zephyr?

Posted

Surely the CPTC is a Ford Corsair?

Not the mk2 Cortina I originally thought then...

CPTC was a Corsair by the way...One year on, the 1300 on page one, photo one hasn't moved. Does anyone (I thinking Keef?) want me to put a note on it?
