Mate of mine was the 'example of an alan minter' example owner for the black Saab 900 episode. The punter who bought the done-up one was Mrs My mate. He came away with not a bad word to say about any of it, although he did get on telly a bit and they said lots of nice things about his car.

There's a new series starting now on Discovery, This week the Jaguar E-Type.

I saw the one where he was buying a Mercedes from Germany. As soon as he saw the car, he was saying 'There's a tear in the hood on the back, oo there's a bit of rust there', and at that point I switched it off, he's just unbearable to watch.

Agreed, I'm not allowed to watch it anymore, due to my shouting "You're a cunt!" whenever Mike Pooer does his sales speil at the end, and goes on about "profit" and stuff. face it matey, you must have something pretty bad on Edd China if he's doing all that work for fuck all....EDD CHINA IN PAEDO SHOCKER?!

They don't really sell them, they just film a scene with some random punter and then put the cars on ebay.

I've always hated E types. They sum up all that's snobbish in the classic car world. They look like a giant knob on wheels, as do most of the people who drive them. Waste of a Mk10 engine...............

Sorry, I like E-Types. Though one of my favourites was shite-spec. RHD converted, auto gearbox, 2+2. It was a Series 1 though, so still very pretty.

I don't like Mike Brewer though.

I've just started watching this E-Type episode, I'm only 20 minutes in and I'm already shouting at the TV...

When removing an e-type bonnet don't just rest it on the floor on the over riders, put some cardboard down or something FFS..

And when replacing the lower part of the bonnet with £600 quids worth of new part, at least paint the bare metal part of the old bonnet first where the 2 bits meet. And why on earth fit the new part without painting it first?? I guess I haven't got to the part where they respray the whole car at a cost of £4k...

Saw a bit of the one with Sierra Cosworth, was waiting for Brewer to umm and ahh that the suspension being totally knackered because the bloke was slightly 'overweight'. I wish he'd tone it down a bit. I suppose it's the same with fishermen watching those Total Fishing programmes, and shouting at the telly for using incorrect bait, etc.

Particularly ironic considering how they stressed checking you have the right part.

But do you think the average grunting mong P38 buyer will give a shit?

Part of me wants to be offended by that.

I had one for two years.

So did Pete - M.

Truth be told I never noticed the light, even though I'd read about it here beforehand. Doubt I'd have noticed if I was buying it.

I did enjoy when they featured something I've been through a couple of times:

Thing's broken :(

Hey it was only unplugged!!! :D

Unplugged because it is broken :(

The programme is a load of old cobblers but it can be entertaining - more through the point that they are supposed to be making a profit - when it's totally obvious they have not got a clue in that department.

The episode when they got the red MR2 was a hoot - managed to source a perfectly colour matched wing at the breakers for a pittance - oh year of course they did

And when Ed was spraying the rear arch the mud wasn't even cleaned off the body work - of course the "rattle can" perfectly matched the original 20 year old paint too

I'll need to download a few more episodes so I can laugh - I do enjoy a bit of comedy :)

I find it a very entertaining show. Something I'm embarrassed to admit that I can't get enough of. However, the errors in some of the episodes are glaringly obvious. Last night’s P38 Range Rover was no different. I see the headlight issue has already been addressed…

In addition to this, why bother going to the time and expense on fitting a replacement grille when the ‘hairdryer treatment’, even a spash of ‘Back To Black’ (or similar) would have sorted it? What a waste of money…

Like with the white 205 GTi they done years ago, replacing all the black plastic with supposedly ‘new’ parts, which already looked as if they’d been weathered light...
