Agreed! I'm pretty sure Dave-not-Dave shifted something in the time continuem just before he handed the keys back.

Just found this thread and I remember the Avenger being in Martins "yard" the day, as he trailered back an old Merc he just bought and parked it next to it.

I lived in the same village as him, and was fascinated by everyone of the cars he had, and that's those fit only for parts and scrap, the roadworthy chod he drove around in, and some rare cars too that he was fixing up. Nice bloke too, very friendly and helpful.

Would anybody be interested in a 78 gl estate?

It'll be a rolling shell with some spares. Has been modified for a 2.0 pinto and 5 speed.

Is all reversible, hasn't had a massive tunnel fitted.

Shell is solid, needs a bit of tidying around the tailgate shut area and a repair to one outer sill

Underneath doesn't look to have been welded, or the sills. Apart from the previously mentioned place, they don't appear to need any.

I want 3k for it. Without engine and box.

Only selling as I've lost motivation.

Forgot to add, it's located in Oxfordshire.

3 bags for a Venger est without an engine and box doesn’t seem very good value.

I’d expect to be paying £3k at a push if it was a minter.

Mint Avengers are now into the £5-6k territory. Tigers are £10-15k. Even a rotter is £1500 odd.

No idea why anybody would fit a Pinto to fuck all in this day and age given they're not cheap any more and there are far better options...

If somebody really wanted to continue in the spirit of Reggie Nutsacks, you could buy this and rock up with an engine/gearbox in your boot and fit it by the side of the road and drive home. Anything less would be a letdown.

Great to see this is still out there. I remember the water pump casing had rotted away, maybe someone decided they'd rather change the whole engine than fix it!
