Loads of childhood memories creeping back here :D

I'm going to have to drag the Scalextric out my dads loft, I started with the Knight-rider set, KITT never worked properly though so was returned to the shop and replaced with a Rover SD1 police car which was the slowest Scalextric car I've ever seen. A yellow Capri acquired a few xmas's later finally gave the 240z the competition that it deserved 8)

I had a catalogue from around that era and would spend hours going through it playing the "if you could only have 10 in total/1 per page/1 per line" game. I only ever had the Le Mans set so it had the Rothmans effect Porsche 917 and Jaguar. My Dad sent the Porsche back with a letter of complaint saying it encouraged cigarette advertising so they sent us an Autoglass one instead

And when I reached the age of about 13, one of these.

I now have a collection of old Pentax and Canon SLRs. Proper camerashite.

And with a loud creak from years of disuse, a floodgate opens...

I have real camerashite! Not one but two Zenits, a B and an E. I used to have a Canon T50 SLR (plastic body, loaded with electronics), and the Zenits (all finest Russian metal, totally basic) weigh about as much. I call them Lada cameras!

I have a couple of Zenits too, both 11s with decadent selenium metering, I'm far too impatient to use them though.

Pentax K1000 heavy duty and Cosina for the KI series lenses. I gave them all away a few years ago to a photography student, who promptly gave me them back when she graduated!

Do you have any Pentax K mount lenses you want to sell?

Grasshopper was mentioned on page 2, but I always wanted one of these!

Is that the one with the inter-changeable wheels/body shells?

If so, I had the 4X4 Toyota? and the sand buggy racer thing

Camerashite eh? I have this, East German c.1969. Built like a tank. Never fuggin use it though  If anyone has a suitable lenscap let me know!

Back onn topic, I still have one of the pens from that 'Graffic Traffic' set. They are GR9 for writing on copied CDs

Bit younger than most of you, but still had some oldish toyshite (and I have camerashite too!)

This was ace! never had a full size scalextric, so I had this Tomy branded thing instead. The lights on them were great 8)

I had one of those driving things in a wedge shape. It was black and had a scrolling screen IIRC. It even had pop up headlights!! 8) Not sure who made it though...

+1 on 'Stock car smash-up'. I couldn't remember what it was called either. My set had the blue beetle and the red pick-up :D

I got the TCR 'Lighted Jam Car Speedway', the same as Flat4Alfa posted above, for Xmas 1983. It had the Lancia Stratos and BMW with the Pantera as 'Jam Car'. I've still got it all and in duplicate too, as I also gained the same set from my cousin. None of it works though.

That was the same Christmas I got a 'Dukes of Hazzard' Barn Busters set :)

Nice one Vin, I also had Barn Busters. Didn't remember it at all until you mentioned it!!

As I now recall, the car was decent quality plastic and well made etc, but utterly nothing like a Dodge Charger. It stung then and it stings now.

Dammit.

The light meters are alright on mine, I've tested them against my digital cameras and they're not far off.

I have some Praktica B mount lenses gathering dust if you want them. If there's a decent camera shop near you they should have piles of old lens caps kicking about.

Something like this that my father made me.

Bloody ace it was too, no brakes and we lived on a hill.

I still have the scars.

I was bought one of these in 1986 for xmas:

amstrad_cpc464.jpg

Great computer, I learnt how to program and everything on it. The 'underdog' compared to the Speccy and C64, which I never thought was fair. A bit like the Rover 75 compared to 3-series and A4's. French games were awesome on it.

No 80's child would be without these:

Just looking at the box sends shivers down my spine, I loved seeing this shape wrapped in xmas paper under the tree!

Now.. Anyone tell me what this car was part of?

2937cxs.jpg

I remember bits.. The car is friction powered with a lever on the back that makes it go bloody quick when flicked, I seem to think it ran in a track that was meant to look like cobbled stones?

It's by 'Rainbow Toys', I think I got close to working it out a year or so back (Dempsey and Makepeace(?) perhaps) but cant find any pics online of it..

Cheers.

i had that toy too... it was pure shite... the track twisted and me and my brother ended up playing sword fencing with it :D
