It's been a busy year, and I've had more than my share of shit in my lap.

To that end, I am viewing an XC90 on the 2nd with the possibility of WBAC the freelander or trading it in, either way it'll be a big hit.

in/out: no change (unless you count lightbulbs!)

Still here:

My 1976 Invacar Model 70 REV :)

and 447FPH the 1958 Harper Mk6A

IMG_20230414_165829.jpg

the big thing of the year well end of the year is that as documented else

I did indeed get REV back and on the road  right at the end of October :) im hoping in 2025 to of course do many trips and journeys with her, especially once the weather improves and days get longer, and with that hopefully take care of her smaller niggles, and also I of course would like to give the Harper some attention, at least get it started/running would be fun :)

in/out Carry forward, no Change* (unless you count the addition of many many lightbulbs!) but as I hoped I have been able to do many trips in REV :) which of course I am extremely pleased about, especially with just how well its all worked out, for all the doom and gloom people would say would happen trying to daily drive an Invacar, or how it would not be practical, its been quite reliable and very practical for me :)

REV-M40.jpg.3cadb845e8f5e1b882f97766f852c777.jpg

and have been able to in no small part with thanks to @Andyrew) take care of a fair number of her niggles, hoping in 2026 to continue the trend, keep improving and using REV :)

and also in thanks to @Andyrew a smoll bit of work was done on the Harper Mk6, namely getting the rotten wheel rim repaired, I think some Tyres have been located, but I dont know if they have been purchased/fitted yet, maybe that can be something for 2026, I am pleased something was done for the Harper, but I would certainly like to do more on the Harper, at least get it running if we can :) I do feel quite bad how its otherwise just sat about for the most part!

*although my brother in completely Autoshite circumstances of "oh crap I need a car yesterday",  did get this Corsa C, its not mine but I have been helping him look after it, so as its something I part take in keeping on the road may as well include it LOL

IMG_2738.jpeg.915d11826f1c739caad6594cec5e08cd.jpeg

overall for a £500 emergency purchase i'd say its done quite well, it needed a little bit of TLC when we first got it, it needed 2 tyres on the front, a new exhaust an O2 sensor and gave it a full service for good measure, but its otherwise been fine since :)  even the air conditioning still works! (although in proper Autoshite fashion it will still will quite randomly disappear all of its coolant out the explanation bottle, but its also done many hours of motorway without a hitch all the same, go figure! I have not been able to figure out what the deal is with that, so I have just got my brother into the routine of checking the coolant and topping it up when and as needed) for 2026, I would like to know where all the coolant is randomly vanishing off too, and get a second key/fob for it, the fact my brother only has the one key for it is giving me anxiety LOL (and if it gets through an MOT with us, I think ill also see about getting it a fresh set of rear tyres

2004 Jaguar S type - out

20210605_143525.jpg.137a19225bf737d1ee34356124ee9953.jpg

I made the mistake of removing the plastic sill covers. Also, the engine needed going over and rear diff was noisy. Decided to scrap, sad day, the best car for long distances, so smooth and relatively trouble free in my ownership, and I liked the much maligned 2.7, and the auto box. My son stripped it for parts. Hardly sold a thing on eBay so far!

2010 Jaguar XF - in /out

PXL_20250730_191109296.jpg.c2957faa69e635d616662c81655910cf.jpg

Only had for a month or two. Bought on impulse locally and it was cheap and looked good (seller was a dent removal specialist). It was on my drive within the hour. Didn't check it or test drive it properly, you live and learn. It had five years of no advisory MOT's but no service history provided... Must have been ghost MOT's as it had two pages of A4 worth of problems and the writing was small! Lost a bit on that one.

2006 Subaru Legacy 2.0 GT spec B - In

PXL_20250923_154004418.jpg.7354650dd3d981624e6a91666c22467c.jpg

It was imported in 2021 from Torque GT by previous owner. Has the 2.0 twin scroll turbo engine from the Impreza. Auto box which nearly put me off but it was quite cheap for one of these and I thought an auto might be better as it's my practical car. It's an interesting beast, does some things well and others are compromised but it does have character. 260ps and puts the power down very nicely, without drama. The auto is a bit slow and power can come in very quickly. I want to get a few issues sorted such as slight coolant loss, a couple of minor oil leaks, timing belt, some suspension bushes, then get it mapped for smoother and slightly higher torque and for UK fuel. I don't do many miles so fuel costs less of an issue. I think this one's a keeper.

Gifted to my son who tried to change the timing belt but made a mistake and broke it. I bought a used engine and he changed it, and did the timing belt correctly the next time! Currently on my parent's drive waiting for my other son to pass his test. We'll then see if it's any good as it smokes a bit but has only done 10 miles since the rebuild.

Screenshot_20251109-204750.png.5826564e71d5f3e7299dc6ef4c60d683.png

Purchased on here from Derksine (a gentleman and I like his Volvo) as a project for my son. We drove it from Edinburgh to Leicester, that was fun! My son is 16 and learning from scratch but has so far changed the oil, alternator and aux belts, outer track rod ends, and is servicing the front brakes. Will cut out and weld the rear sills when the weather's better.

1981 Suzuki GS550 Katana - In

IMG-20260101-WA0006.jpg.b252f43daa80d39ae7874bc735cdea32.jpg

Same son bought this for £350 off Facebook marketplace. He's rebuilt the carburettors so the engine will hopefully run soon. It had been left for many years. A nice project even though he won't be able to ride it and I would be scared to!

Others:

2006 Focus CMax - stay

IMG-20230602-WA0017.jpg.d5460e49743cb7a6e8b250a7a2e1d2e0.jpg

Great tip and parts collection car and will not die. I left the oil cap off by mistake when my parents borrowed it to drive to Devon and back. Oil was half full so topped it up and it's been fine since. Nearly 160k miles and timing belt is 11 years old. Fixed rust patch on front wing with gorilla tape.

2001 TT roadster - stay

PXL_20250831_124439295_MP.jpg.f6900731cfbb5771ffc7ecb3eda88616.jpg

Oldest son is replacing all bushes on front, castor bushes and cookbots (if you know what these are), refurbished subframe, an ongoing project and has needed a refresh due to age. Will be driving to Germany with son in July for a camping holiday.

1987 MR2 - stay

MR2.jpg.486762a348bbe2280b7510e5061f8587.jpg

Replaced fuel pump which has taken ages as it's 45 mins away. Son has refurbished brakes and it needs a few more things doing as it's been off the road for a few years. Hoping to get it on the road this year.

1997 Micra - stay

PXL_20251116_113506979_MP.jpg.42feea978789485b91b695f28b0d90ee.jpg

Bought off here for my 13 year old son who's now 18 His daily drive and used for autotesting. He's replaced all the suspension bushes, new dampers, and is currently building a 1.3 engine for it. It's a lot of fun.
