Gamma/CX Shite Chase

Wouldn't usually devote an entire thread to a car chase off Youtube, but this one is a bit special.

And Alain Delon is driving the Gamma! Two executive "fastbacks" hurtling around a busy town, lovely stuff. Here is is the chase itself, it is from "Tre uomini da Abbattere" which is foreign:

Shite Overload! That's qual. Pit manoeuvre being executed on the Simca, non-rat mark 1 Golf, Early Shitvic, mk2 Escort. Much OOFF!

Quality car chase there Mr.Hirst.

Sure there is a maroon Maxi at 1.18. Has yellow rear numberplate, so possibly 'LeRosbifs' on holiday

Poor little 850T though :(:(:(

I looked and thought 'Autobianchi A112'... but no, I think you're right - it's a Maxi!

Steady on old fruit, nothing could be better than that!

Crumbs, the shite density in that clip is over 1,000,000,0,00,000,0 units. Great find!!!!

Those Gammas are such an awesome looking car, particularly the front end styling. If I had one i'd just sit and look at it for hours.

Strange how the Gamma took all the hits, yet the CX remained undamaged :(

Quality......can't believe they totalled the ds ambulance....French bastards!

Which would be a more sensible thing to do than starting it up and driving it.

Fit a flat 4 from a Scooby and then use daily.

Marvellous! Real men doing real velour-upholstered garlic-scented stunt work. Top find! And yes, it is a Maxi, in Damask I think.

Or doing a J-turn in it, given the Gamma's propensity for shedding vital drive belts!

Gamma Berlina is awesome! A mate of mine had a 2.5i.e. in 2003 and we really enjoyed just sitting in it (was not licensed but ran well). Fear of killing belts and fear of rust stopped the project. Top-shite detail is the hidden window in the tailgate, covered by liftable chrome grill!

It's like Autoshite does movies.

I've just watched a heap of these clips, thanks guys! I have to agree with Pete, there's just so much shite action going on! Corsair/124 chase (which the Corsair really should have won, it was heavier and more powerful), loads of Giulietta/Berlinas, mostly dressed as copcars, Taunus, Rekord, DS, CX, 131, you couldn't wish for better. Oh yeah, and some real Jason King upper-lip work too.

More, More!

All this Gamma love is definitely appreciated.

I don't think we've had

yet in the youtube thread, slightly excessive shite destruction but made up for with a brief glimpse of NSU Sport Prinz (!!), and they take the inevitable 'driving through a pile of boxes' sequence to the next level - WITH FIRE!

Those Remy Julienne boys really earned their free Alfas, didn't they? There must be an Italian phrase that equates to "Hold it chummy, you're nicked!" Seems like the 70s was a golden age for cop shows in Europe as well as UK and US. Since then shite action has been a bit thin on the ground, although obviously Ronin and Bourne hold up their end rather well. I mean, Bourne: Suzuki Samurai vs Hyundai! :D

Now here's a thing - this vid has just popped up on the classic & sportscar faecebook feed, with the 'find' attributed to Buckley.

Buckley was also admonished by some of the readership recently for branding undesirable old cars as "SHITE"...

Hmm!

Not the first time I've been ripped off by a motoring journalist. I reckon I could chin him anyway.
