when I was younger and before I had fucked up my back I used to ride on the heritage Routemasters all day long and then go back to Bow/west ham garage on them (I even had my own HiVis I would carry around in a bag)

 

part of the Garage trip involved some dual carriage way/motorway which was fun to experience especially sat right next to the platform, i would not want to fall off at those speeds (the extra fun part was when they went into a tunnel at speed combined with the patchy high pressure sodium lighting in the tunnel made for a fun experience)
