This is hydrogen collider grade Autoshite, I too had never heard of this car before now, and it looks like it was designed by an Autoshite select committee given the task of creating the ultimate vehicle.

1. Borderline extinct - tick

2. No one remembers them - tick

3. Looks ordinary and yet beautifully quirky - tick

3. tatty and forlorn - tick

4. Heroic adventure to collect and revive - tick

5. Purple towrope present and correct - tick

I can't think of anything else. Just buy it, I reckon you'll regret it for a long time if you don't.

Hey, Bol, If you're worried about A framing it why don't you book it in for an MOT and drive it? 100% LEGAL.

Its a dark run to the port at this time of year MrB; as long as you have trailer lights no ones going to take any notice in the dark. I'd stay off the 'peage'' though..

Standard Fiat steels on there. I'd take at least 2 spares with me (-add its existing spare & you'd be really unlucky to need them all.) Calipers are an easy remove-if they're grabbing. Guess that depends on whether he's pushed the brake pedal

Interior froma 124 or 125 will fit -I've got one ofeach stashed if you get really stuck -but they're dead easyto recover.!

Gotta do it-you just gotta do it.

Cos-if you dont, I might.

1st dibs please...

If anyone's wondering whats going on with this, the initially very helpful seller has completely gone to ground after I asked for his phone number!!! How annoying. After a bit of detective work I have actually found out his phone number by other means, however rather than ring him up and surprise him and have to explain how I tracked him down like a dirty dog, i'm hoping he will volunteer the info. if nowt by tomorrow night i'll chance it and ring him up.

Absolutely. Any news Mr Bolx?

Negotiations are ongoing at the moment, they stalled for a few days but are back up and running again. I think selling this car is a fairly low priority for the seller.

It's been for sale for the better part of a year so I think you might be right.

Hope all works out for you in the end M.Bolleaux

Anyone fancy an update on this? I'm sad to say, its not coming home with me.

Dealing with nthe seller was a bit of a carry-on, sometimes he responed to emails and sometimes not. When he did, it was usually a half-arsed one word answer, I asked for a few more pics but none were forthcoming. I forgot about it over xmas then in the new year rang him up at last. I had a discussion with him which revealed the car had been in his barn since the windscreen got broken in 1985!!!! Anyway, I asked for some more pics, and offered him 400 euros, the deathly silence which resulted from that suggested he wasnt really up for bartering. I did get a few more pics though:

Tbh it looks a canny bit rougher in these pics than it does in the ad. Still do-able like but a fairly serious project, i wouldnt fancy A-framing it for a start.

A day or two later (this week sometime) I got a message saying a collector in Paris had offered him the €500 asking price. I'm not sure if he was bluffing or not, but i know he's had it for sale for a year or so, it seeems funny that aftre i get in touch he suddenly gets a buyer. I advised him to take it, but if he would accpt 400, to give me a shout. I did not get a good vibe that I would hear from him! On top of that I have now spent my 'shite wad' on something else so i hope he doesnt get in touch!!! If he does i'll cross that bridge etc etc.

Ah well. I tend to go heavily off gut feelings when dabbling with shite buying, and i just didnt have the right level of Karma with this one so its gonna slip through my fingers. Next!

Those pics suggest you have made a wise and cautious decision, Bol...

Looks like a bit of a tub, which was expected i'm sure. Oh well never mind, it was fun whilst it lasted :D

I think that was a wise move Bol, I'd say that was grounds for divorce if you'd bought that home.

Plenty more quality shite over on leboncoin.fr so I'm sure you'll find something soon.

C'est la vie, Boll...

What have you blown your wad on instead?? (fnarr fnarr  )

Urgh that's a bit of a mess.

Never mind, let's wait until the next one comes up. But not in 'put-it-away-in-a-barn-wet' France.
