The Yank cars? Spotted these some time back. The cars were stored on a grass area at the end of an old-peoples type housing block.

They have since gone and I do not know what happend to them. I'm sorry there are only a few pics and they are not as clear but it was on a busy main road over looked by neighbouring houses.

Does that brown estate say Rambler on the front? Thats what that one is, the blue convertible I have no idea about. There appears to be a yellow/white Chevrolet (for some reason I am also thinking Consul..surely not?!) of some sort behind them as well, but Im really not sure about that one! A shame they have disappeared, I would presume they are long scrapped. Ramblers are not common here at all!

There used to be a Rambler dealer in Wallasey in the late 60's. In fact the metal sign is still on the side of the building! I'm surprised no-one has stolen it.

Fancy a late night trip? I have an extensive collection of screwdrivers and \ or drill bits.

Rambler is correct, not only for the estate but also the blue convertible. They both date from the mid-60s and are probably the 880 series, or the Rebel. The white roof hidden by the BMW looks like it could be a 1958 Chevrolet Bel Air. If they have been scrapped, it's a damned shame.

I know it's only a matter of time before someone steals it which is a shame because it's been there all my life. I know the owner of the building has had a few offers for it.

Hard to believe that AMC had a dealer network in the UK, in fact their Jeep dealer was only a few hundred yards down the road. No signs left on that building though.

I reckon for once the UK plate on an American car could be right. I did a search for a 1965 AMC Ramber 770 Cross Country and it came out bang on. Mr Ramrod is correct is assuming that the owner is a bit of an American Motors fan.

AMC did sell RHD cars in this country and the one in the pic is a LHD.

Probably got this wrong because my memory is RLY SHIT, but didn't Dollywobbler have a Rambler not too long ago?

1966 Rambler Classic 770 convertible

Complete with Lucas(?) turn signal units jutting out. The bumper was originally chromed.

Whereabouts is that Rambler place, I wouldn't mind having a look!

It's a former car showroom in Wallasey. Nothing special, in fact the circular sign is the only reminder of it's past life.
