These Citroen Merhari's command ridiculously high prices?? Like £10k is normal, and they arent even that rare. Must be very sought after.

Two of the estate agents free brochures I kept collecting were called 42 and 37 so presumably this a kind of post code is it? Stayed 5km's north of Montrichard, and covered the are north to Blois, Loches to the south, not much to the east but as far as Candes-Saint-Martin and entire area below Tours, back and forth along the A85. That anywhere close?

I think VWPowered territory is a lot further West that this, am I right?

And so to the remainder of the spottage:

Sorry if it offends, but I'd never seen a beaver before, alive or dead!

Yet another scabby Visa

Posted Image

Shabby R5

Posted Image

Double crud!

Posted Image

Driving across bridge with arm out of window to get this chateau...

Posted Image

.. but then got camera shake as this leaped into view..

Posted Image

Obligatory one for FT

Posted Image

Early jazzed up Golf

Posted Image

Hiding up a long driveway, superb Renault 10 !!

Posted Image

Another 104, so in love with these cars.

Posted Image

Action shot, in regular use by old gent for relocating potted plants around rural village

Posted Image

Final batch to follow...

Posted

What a superb load of spots, worth waiting for until AS was back up again.

Posted Image

Chambord? I was very 'fou de chateaux' when I was 15-ish, dragging my parents along to quite a few around France.

Posted

Yes, Chambord! We saw I think 24 Chateaux in all, about 3 a day, thus all the driving around spotting potential.

And finally....

Toot toot!

Posted Image

Nice garage...

Posted Image

Bashed up R9

Posted Image

And then a worse one!

Posted Image

Nice looking R5

Posted Image

Posted Image

Not so good R11

Posted Image

Stop the car again, looks very promising!

Posted Image

Sadly couldn't get in though, private property

Posted Image

Good, but nothing top draw in there really

Posted Image

Whilst waiting for other half to collect the daily bread, these glided past

Posted Image

Posted Image

But here it is, the best of the holiday. Emergency stop!

Posted Image

Posted Image

Simca 1100 van, badged as a Talbot of course.

Posted Image

Nice inside too. And what's that parked ahead?

Posted Image

Posted Image

A pair of Matra Simca Bagheeras!

Posted Image

Posted Image

Just how different can two models of the same car look?

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

And this 505 a few doors along to round the trip off.

Posted Image

Posted

Top drawer spottage, as usual, m'colleague.

Posted

Holy moly! I would LOVE that simca van, it is CLASS!!!!! Great spots. Loches is right on mutha_Bol's doorstep. She is literally in a veritable multiplex of shite.I am going there in a few weeks, MUST LEAVE A-FRAME AT HOME

Posted

Gah, and to think I was only yards away from the genuine Bollox_owned uber haul. Presume you're tat haul is in said location. Surely your mum wouldn't have minded a salivating camera clicking snooper lurking around the property in a cold hysterical sweat. No, bring the A-Frame!!

Posted

Posted Image

Wowsers! Talk about saving the best til last :D

1100 van is fit. Would look nice alongside my R4 I think!

Wonder how much the Matras go for over here? (If you can find one that is) Would make a surprisingly practical thing what with the extra seat and all.

Posted

wow great spots i'm just outside limoges

Time for updating time. Haven't quite got time to caption them all so I'm going to let the pictures do the talking.

A brief Autoshite management excursion to Amsterdam first.

This again, we saw it about 100 times that day. All these photos were taken during 1 day's spotting, it was too damn cold to try it again, -5c I think it was.

Next we're back onto home soil with some local London spottage. Remember that photo of the hearse being lifted onto the trailer? .....

What a coincidence! I saw this today in the most southern part of Amsterdam, over on the other side of the road, wishing I could have taken a pic... so thanks, excellent foresight!
