Nice shots as usual Seth! I think the above should be used as the header shot for the Grumpy Old Men thread... :P

It looks like you had a really good time.

I hadn't slept a wink last night and with this bloody chest infection I just couldn't face a trip out in the rain. Next time though.

Thanks Dolly.

Here's some from inside. As they are so crammed together I tended to take pictures of bits, bobs and scenerey as I figured others would be shooting the cars.

It seemed as though chairs were provided in places of extreme shite to allow us to sit down and recover after seeing such wonders.

And finally I have photographic proof that Trigger and Pogweasel are not in fact the same person, seen here with Mrs_Trig who braved the company of so many wierdos.

A really good few hours. Well done to all who came! I hope the AA/RAC were not kept too busy on journeys home.

It was a great day out and I almost didn't make it home in one piece, thanks to a close encounter with a sofa on the A14. The only consolation would have been that the sofa was a rather dull shade of beige.

Posted

You would have loved it Louise - they had a a sectioned Allegro!

Seth - your photos make me feel very inadequate! (and very hairy...)

Posted

Yes, though that could also be due to the fact that the toilets are right at the end of the tour...

Posted

Top photos, it was a very enjoyable time, and thanks to Nicky for keeping my lad entertained.

Highlights of the place are too numerous, but for those who didn't come, you missed:

- Rain falling through the roof onto some exhibits

- The tea shop selling "just out of date crisps" at a small discount

- The smell of death from the Citroen SM in the carpark, left unlocked so we could see the towrope in the footwell

- Some cars seemingly dumped in position, then lifted level on broken bricks

- More flat tyres than I've seen in a long time

- Amazingly, some of the exhibits had been moved since I last visited, including the Aston Martin Lagonda! There must have been a crack team equipped with footpumps, jumpleads and gallons of EasyStart

here are my A member car park pics, taken on phone camera, so not great

couldn't stay long, as I had the kids and had other stuff to do this afternoon. but was nice to meet a few of you.

i seem to have done what i always do at car shows and forget to take a pic of my own car, so if anyone has one i would appreciate it !(red maestro)

MX-Herald draws in the blokes...

62005_468342898199_640023199_6706525_612406_n.jpg

But this being Autoshite, a 1.2-litre Kadett has the same effect...

Hmmm. Early Maestro action

Trigger didn't wear this top for very long. Bet he thought it wasn't long enough for anyone to get a photo! Wrong!

I'm 'lichen' Seth's Herald (and yes, I still enjoy making that tired pun!)

Microcars invade. This BMW Isetta was actually on a Berkeley Enthusiasts' Club road run.

Little white three-wheeled Berkeley had an Excelsior triple engine for maximum shite points. Note structural gaffer tape too.

What a cracking day out!

What a shite journey home, M25 was solid, 1.5 hours late for my Missus.

Still, the Triumph was magic!

Good to meet everyone, some not for the first time, can we have some identification for those faces though? I think i spoke to everyone but being genuinely VERY excited at the tat on display I didn't get everyone's name.

My favourite vehicles of the day were:

1. Angry Dicky's A35 out of the Autoshite selection

2. The Tula 3 wheeler in the museum

Tricky choice though!

Posted

Yes, what a fantastic day out! I thoroughly enjoed myself, it was great to meet so many Shiteists all at once.

Posted

Yep, splendid, as discussed on site, the sort of place we'd all like to own - "If Autoshite did museums..""

Would have joined up for a beverage at The Swan afterward, but got a call from Domestic manager, to say she'd switched on the heating, and plunged Outlaw Towers into darkness, so had to make a swift exit. Turns out it's the fan on the boiler, or sommat, blew a fuse, and tripped the whole lot out. Nice.

Posted

An excellent day out! Despite it taking 4 hours to get home

Nice to meet people and what a cracking museum.

Posted

I live in the wrong country! Cool pics, cool cars (Berkeleys, yay!). Who's who though in the pics?

Posted

I had a great day, nuch better than most of the high budget car shows/meets I have been to!

My pics were with a tiny camera phone and very much like an excited child - 'Ooh - interesting - Click!'

So here we go.

Thats all folks!

Great to meet you all!

Xmasjumperowned!

I can't believe you got a snap of me wearing it Ian!

I've not been long home, the journey back was terrifying, The rain was chucking it down, the traffic was busy and it was pitch black, I really don't want to do that again, But it was worth it!, I've really had a fantastic day, I can't get over what a great turnout it was and how nice everyone was, If you missed it this time, don't miss it next time! :D

P.S does anyone know if driving 100 miles with the choke out does any harm...

Not that I'm aware of, used to do it in the Lada occasionally, you might just need to clean the plugs and give it a blast up the road to clear out any unburnt fuel (with the choke in of course!)

Grumpy Old Men :P

I'd be the GOM on the far left :)

I certainly was a decent day out and nice to meet you lot (although I would be lying if I claimed to remember everyones name especially as most have an AS name an a real one).

The Berkleys must have turned up after I had gone. Nevermind.

So whens the next one?!! :D

Cheers Panda, It was all motorway driving so I'm hoping it should be o.k, There's no choke light on the Kadett and as it was dark and i was concentrating on not running out of petrol and the wet roads i completely forgot about it!

That is a great photo above!, John (oldford) on the right is hillarious!

I'm in the middle, looking at the Innocenti, thinking how dead I would be if I arrived home in one!

Great pics....Have always steered clear of things like this, out of fear of being the resident "Old Fart"....Having seen those pics, I feel much better, so I think I may well attend any future event!

That's assuming that I have something suitable in which to attend by then!

What's the red/maroon Isuzu? Anyone got any more pics/info? :?

Hey! What a great day... I was actually nursing a semi for most of the afternoon, which may be why my flies opened (twice). Gotta say thanks to mr. Bickle for driving me up, and thanks to garycox for driving me back. Was great to put some faces/names ot usernames, sorry to those of you I didn't get to chat to, you missed out cause i'm bloody interesting. Have some pics (possible repeats, no apologies for that)
