urpert Posted April 4, 2025 Posted April 4, 2025 Happening tomorrow. I may have as many as five children in tow so updates may be sporadic. It’s started well: in the mean time here is a teaser pic of the HBOL: IronStar, privatewire, crad and 7 others 10
grogee Posted April 4, 2025 Posted April 4, 2025 Sad face for the broken train. It must be the severe, extreme weather we're experiencing at the moment. Hmm, 1990-on, lots of seats? Is it a Nissan of some kind? Serena or Prarie?
EyesWeldedShut Posted April 4, 2025 Posted April 4, 2025 Transporter innit? wiv seats in the back (rear windows optional)

urpert Posted April 5, 2025 Author Posted April 5, 2025 Main part of train journey at least currently uncancelled. Breakfast and an appropriate accessory (though for the truly pedantic an 071 area code is a bit early): privatewire 1
urpert Posted April 5, 2025 Author Posted April 5, 2025 First part of the journey now in the modern: privatewire 1

EyesWeldedShut Posted April 5, 2025 Posted April 5, 2025 Wrong thread - should be in the 'so you are the gaffa' thread ? Proper job on that repair though - privatisation is patently working?

CaptainBoom Posted April 5, 2025 Posted April 5, 2025 Chod speed good sir, with family in tow. That's proper adventuring! The Bank training college I used to work at had a fleet of T4 as minibuses. Acceleration was... glacial but made narrow enough to make short work of the lanes around the area, so you could keep momentum. If you brought tools with you for your collection, you could offer to fix the train
urpert Posted April 5, 2025 Author Posted April 5, 2025 Achieved: crad, PicantoJon, bangernomics and 22 others 21 4
urpert Posted April 5, 2025 Author Posted April 5, 2025 First impressions: very clean, very original. Now for a straightforward* 135 miles down the A1 after a Betty’s bun. privatewire 1

djim Posted April 5, 2025 Posted April 5, 2025 Looks really nice, these are great vans. Here is my old one, currently with my Dad, though I might be getting it back soon as he is getting on a bit and doesn't really drive much anymore. It is a 5 pot petrol auto and acceleration is leisurely at best but definitely a comfy way to get about. Dave_Q, Westbay, 500tops and 2 others 5
