sheffcortinacentre Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 MK3 cortina the red part of the rear lense is linked vertically by an inch strip , whereas the facelift the indicator continues to the edge creating upper & lower red sections. ( Ie it appears to be red, orange, red strips). warren t claim and MiniMinorMk3 1 1
Shite Ron Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 For the mk3 Cortina I would say the stripes from side profile, facelift L had twin pinstripes along the lower quarter, XL twin pinstripes upper 3/4 , pre facelift had no stripes, GT had tripe thicker stripes at same height as XL on facelift, for the top of the range the badge on the rear pillar is GXL on pre facelift and E on facelift.

sheffcortinacentre Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 10. Fiat 126. Wasn't there a big argument over this last time (plastic pig only has 3 road wheels not 4). warren t claim 1
sheffcortinacentre Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 8 . Horizon Just sounded like it had one. While in actual fact it was an air-cooled diesel engine. warren t claim 1
mintwth Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 5. R1 PFX (the R1 engined Fairway 😉 ) warren t claim 1
Asimo Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 I am confident about 7 (FD Victor) and 8 (Horizon) but just guessing about all the others.

dozeydustman Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 The only reason I answered wheeltrims to the Cortina question is because I have only ever seen these trims on pre-facelift Mk3s along with Rostyles and plain steels with the little cone things over the hub centre. Whereas every facelift I I’ve seen has chrome hubcaps on steels or dartboards. I’m no expert as the blue oval produces IMO mostly junk.
Bren Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 Wasn't the FD victor also the first car with a bonded windscreen? Wibble and sheffcortinacentre 2

Rostyles were replaced by sports rims on GXL at the update in 71 same time as they replaced the rostyle hubcap on the GT (rostyles were optional on GT). lesapandre and warren t claim 1 1
